Naturescape's Groundpod "skimmer II"
Some of you asked so I'll post some pics here of what the Skimmer II is. It is made, and sold on Naturescapes website. Although I have seen it for sale on other sites too. Cost around $99.00. The original Skimmer was made out of metal, whereas the Skimmer II is plastic. It is simply a frisbee shaped dish with a camera… -
Pricelist pricing calculation is uhmm.. screwed up?
So, if we go in and set desired profit, there seem to be some weird voodoo calculations going on and I'd love to know where my money is going? So, digital downloads are $.49, we know this.. If I go in and add a profit (with "Don't Round" selected) and set my profit to $.39 my customers price is $.95 Which I'm guessing is… -

Alternative to Canon Macro Twin Lite Flash?
I wish to purchase a flash set-up for Macro work. I currently use a Canon 300D, 105mm Sigma Macro lens and a Canon 550EX flash unit. I do not like ring flashes and prefer the twin flash arrangement. I already have a bracket that will hold two flash units and understand this may be preferable to give flexibility for… -
#41: Too many ideas
Shoes are awesome. I love shoes. Consequently, my brain is jammed with so many ideas that I can't think any of them through in a coherent fashion. I think I'm currently veering between organic "chance capture"-type shots, or posed feet with some kind of story to tell, but then in the back of my mind I also have Steichen's… -
Harvestman sitting on the fence.
Well, the angled cross-member of the gate actually. Same sort of thing though... This was in then shaded part of the garden at the time - the sun had gone a bit too far for me to use all natural light, and the stiff breeze was actually moving the harvestman's legs which must have been shaking its body a little bit, cos it… -
Re: SmugMug on Roku - NOW AVAILABLE !!
@leftquark, I hope you will reexamine and reconsider Roku's position in the market place, expecially compared to Apple TV. Roku is growing market share much faster than Apple TV and with a projected year-end base of 52 million Roku powered devices, it seems odd for SM to ignore this opportunity. From Telecompetitor… -

My biggest wedding of the year (CnC)
This was, for me, the most important wedding of the year. I mean, I genuinely want to give my best for every couple -- but I wanted to do even more for this couple. Re: 35mm Film - Where and what to buy?
For B&W, Tri-X was always my faviorite film, along with Plus-X for bright daylight. Nowdays, T-Max 400 is a finer grain version of a modern Tri-X. Be sure to try some Ilford XP-2 Super (ISO 400) which can be processed by any C-41 lab. (Chromogenic, C-41 process.) Not as sweet as the Kodak film, but it has the convenience…
