My biggest wedding of the year (CnC)
This was, for me, the most important wedding of the year. I mean, I genuinely want to give my best for every couple -- but I wanted to do even more for this couple. She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes...
(sing along) She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes... Okie dokie, you can stop now... I think you get my drift... This is a globular springtail clambering over a mountainous region (actually a stone about 5 inches long, but to the glob, it's a mountain!) It is quite small. OK, it is very very small... About… -
Re: My Tripod Thread, Couple Questions...
Chris, I have a Gitz 1257 that I travel with. However, I have to take the column and the screw in feet out/off to get it into my luggage. Either of the two heads from RRS will fit the bill nicely (btw, do not leave that in your luggage, carry it on). The Ultimate that Spider-t recommends is also a capable head as well as… -
Re: SmugMug on Roku - NOW AVAILABLE !!
@leftquark, I hope you will reexamine and reconsider Roku's position in the market place, expecially compared to Apple TV. Roku is growing market share much faster than Apple TV and with a projected year-end base of 52 million Roku powered devices, it seems odd for SM to ignore this opportunity. From Telecompetitor… -
Re: "Universal" Lens Hoods?
I prefer to use the original lens hood comes with the lens. The main reason is that the hood is customize to the optical angle of the lens (the focal lenght). The short (the wider) the focal lenght, the shorter the hood. Petal hood is modified in order to allow the best coverage. The third party rubber hoods may not be… -
Re: So confused by street
I agree with one pocket. If they are in a public place, they should not complain about being photographed. If they don't like it, they can stay home. When I first started photography, I was doing assignments here on the Dgrin forum. My moment of clarity came when I was doing the 'Street light' assignment. Nikolai liked the… -

Re: Pro Account increase
In my opinion, I don’t think SM pricing is as bad as people are making them out to be, $300 for Business, $150 for portfolio (yes it was a big jump up) I will be dropping down to portfolio as I don’t sell that many photos and don’t need some of the stuff that business offers, so to retain the watermark. thats my decision.… -
Re: Proposed new shipping prices
Anne, I'll have to agree with dmc 100% on that. A good example I think is an order I did not too long ago, it was 2x 20x30 lustre prints, for a total of about $52. I don't recall the exact S/H on that under the old system, but I do recall that it was about $2 more than the pure shipping when I used the same tube to send… -
