color correction
I just read and completed a really easy color correction procedure in Scott Kelby's book a "the photoshop CS book for digital photographers" It was brilliant. I'm sure everyone else has read this except me but I find it much easier to understand and use than Dan Marg.s book. It seems fool proof to me and if I can do it… -
Re: Unique engagement shoot...
YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING!!! UGH... You've done some seriously good work Zoomer. And on every angle imaginable!! 118 pictures of awesomeness. I just had the same thing happen to me. Found out the motivation was that she just wanted a cheesy grin and a full length shot. Could that be her motivation? Just wanting a closeup… -
Re: Which microphone for 7D?
Just talked with Chris at The Sound Professionials. He was knowledgable and put me into a cheaper mic' that's the equal of the R0de I was looking at but costs much less. They have a good resellerrating too. Divamum was right, their customer support is great! This is what I'm getting: Tascam TAS-TM-ST2… -
pig pictures - results
Did a shoot of pigs today! :D Here's a shot of one of the barns at the 118 yr old farm. It's a little too centered, but this was as wide and as far back as I could go. I think I'll be going back there for more photo opps. The large white roof on this barn was giving me fits! This shot was caught on the fly...thus my friend… -
Re: Problems with Calibration
Sorry I'm so late in letting you know how the calibration went, but I have a foster dog that is keeping me on my toes :D I was able to calibrate my monitor tonight and all seemed good till a half hour later - the screen color looked odd. I rechecked the color just running the calibration for RGB - don't know if one can do… -
DSS 118: Question....scenic vs. landscape
I'd like to ask everyone if scenic = landscapre or is landscape a subset of scenic? Does anyone have an opinion? Joyce stated. "The scene has to have nature in some form in it and its needs to be wide angle as much as your equipment can provide!" For me, scenic is an image that shows a scene that tells a story. It could be… -
Re: Buying a D700 -- Need a lens recommendation
Wide angle should be the priority for the use you describe, IMHO. I would rent a Nikon 14-24 and buy the Nikon 50mm 1.4G. The 14-24mm will make almost ANY shot look incredible. For architecture and simply capturing the story of an environment it is unbeatable. The 50mm 1.4G should be in any Nikon enthusiast bag. For after… -
Re: Fitness with Erica
Being in NY and having two actual fashion photographers as friends (one in "Vogue" type and one in catalogs) I have to sadly admit that this is dead on. I have had several STUNNING models who I discussed with each of them and the short story is 5'11 minimum for "High Fashion" and 5'8" or taller for catalog. In High Fashion… -

Tenba LL Lens case
I recently purchased a Tenba LL series lens case. As you might imagine, LL stands for "Long Lens". The case is water resistant, features a number of internal and external pockets and a monopod strap. A camera body may be left on the lens and packed inside the case. The case can be closed using either the zip or a buckle.…
