Would these be worth it?
I've found two pieces of gear for this season for sale by a serious photog whose health has declined to the point that they can't use it. I'm really tempted to take them off his hands, but really wanted to get some more input before I made the jump. Canon 2X EF II (Retails on B&H for $308, Priced for me at negotiable $195)… -
Shot RAW - Now What?
I shot my first event today in RAW (CR2). I now have 195 files and I'm wondering how to deal with them in PP. Do I make the desired corrections directly to the RAW files and then convert to JPG or do I convert to some other format before making the corrections. The post production software I have is Digital Photo… -

Re: Discussion on blown highlights
I frequently comment on blown highlights if they should be filled with image data. I am also concerned about pixels that should be black, but are 125, 120, 130 or so - this is grey. Or white and 210, 212, 195 - this is light grey not white. But you are absolutely correct that specular highlights, by definition, do not… -

Re: S95 arrived
It's HERE! My S95 arrived in the mail this a.m. Charging the battery and waiting to play a bit. It feels so LIGHT after my 1DMKIV. Hubby says, "What do you need a little camera like that for? Yours does everything and more, right?" How can I explain why we all need 2, 3, 4 or more cameras for different reasons? Can't wait… -
Re: FS: Tamron 24-135mm f/3.5-5.6
Hey Rocky, You're absolutely right. I used this lens on my 5D for landscape and general walk around pictures. It never let me down. I paid $195 because of the 1/2mm scratch in the front element, (which doesn't effect the images) and I was going to sell it even cheaper, but I can't get another lens with this range for that… -
Canon 35 2, B+W filter, hood -- $195 shipped to CONUS
Canon 35 2 with hood & B+W filter $ SOLD I bought this lens a couple of weeks ago from Spydweb at FM. I’m new to Canon and just learned that my beloved Nikon 45 2.8P can be mounted on Canon DSLR’s via an adapter and be used with basically all of its functionality. Since I only bought the Canon 35 as a lens to throw in the… -
Finally bought my wide angle
Well, I'm extremely happy to say that I ordered my wide angle lens that I've been drooling over for so long. I almost gave up when a local store told me the best they could do was $490 CAD. I did some major searching to find a good price on this lens. $195 US was the lowest I found and that was an amazing deal for me. It…
