Re: WTB Cheap Canon Digital SLR
I have a Rebel 300D that is actually in very good, almost excellent shape (about a 8 out 10). The LCD has zero marks, but the body has some rub marks on the back and on the flash cover. The grip still has all the rubber on it, which is usually the first thing to go. Comes with box, all papers/software, neck strap, charger,… -
Re: Tag Galaxy
I played around with that a couple days ago. Neat interface that could have well been text for the first many steps to pare down to one's final search. And it all depends how well the images were "tagged" to begin with, which were very inaccurate from what I searced for. Still, though, pretty cool concept, nonetheless. I… -
Re: Tufted Titmouse
The birds breast is light grey - when I clock the lightest areas I read ~240,244,246 - Almost nowhere do I clock above 250, So I don't think the detail is truly blown, but it may not be easily visible on all monitors. When I corrected the color by threshold I may have raised the data too high on the chest so I went back to… -
Re: Anyone Else Seeing Lower Statcounter Numbers?
OK I just did an additional journey thru your popular photos gallery all 235 of them and then the 24 images in skateboading (259 images total) from 6:23 - 6:37 p.m. (ish). You can also go into your StatCounter admin page under 'config' and delete the 'blocking cookie' so it will log your own hits and double check yourself.… -

Re: Learned the hard way!
OK, how 'bout this setup... saves some dough but keeps important, high quality components, and allows for upgrades later when the economy improves :D. Bogen Manfrotto 627, $55, coupled with a Kirk QRC 1.75, also $55, to sit atop my Bogen 488RC2 ball head. Add the RRS MPR CL, for $110 and a plate for my D80, $55, and I'm… -
Re: What is happening in this photo
Focal length is 235. I should have mentioned it, but wasn't sure it would be needed. Distance is approximate.....50 to 70 yds maybe a bit longer. I have had this happen at a closer range of around 20 to 30 yds. Like this photo and others I have taken it has been a somewhat breezy day, but not a hard windy day. Hot and very… -
Re: Resampling and Resolution
Hi Steve, i dont have access to Photoshop CS2 but i know what you mean, On the toolbar i leave where is says resolution blank. I then crop an image to constrained proportions such as 8X10. If i then go to image size, Ill see in the dialog box that i have an image that is indeed 8X10. The resolution in the box under these… -
Re: Panoramic Gear suggestions
I think I'll keep the panorama nodal mounts because I really, really intend to shoot some panoramas with close foregrounds. You can trade off time and money. RRS BH-40 at $300 and up and $75 for the leveling mount can be replaced by a 3-way panoramoic head for $125 and a $15 level. The downside, you need to level the…
