Re: Canon 350D flash pc cord question?
Paramount Cords does make custom length cords for Canon TTL, but they are very expensive. http://www.paramountcords.com/proddetail.asp?prod=Canon%2DETTL%2DCord&cat=93 For this situation of off camera use, I would recommend a simple "Auto" type flash and a radio slave, or even a slaved manual flash. I am not sure that E-TTL… -
Traveling the wonderland trail
For those that don't know, the Wonderland trail encircles Mount Rainier. At over 20,000 vertical feet of gain and loss in 93 miles, it is a knee buster of a hike. Feeling particularly good about the weather, I headed out for 4 and a half days, bringing a few lenses and my camera along for good company. Here's a few photos… -
Re: SmugMug weekly maintenance window: Thursday night / Friday morning
Blog not updated? Guys the point of the Blog is to keep us informed. http://status.blogs.smugmug.com/2010/05/13/051310-%E2%80%93-scheduled-maintenance/ still says "00:27 PDT We are Read-Write again. Sorry for the delay, lots of magic today." I kept waiting for that to change! But meanwhile looks like the site is up and I… -
DSS #93 - A Whole New "Old" Subject
Okay, I must admit that the photo of "Panchito and Big Nick" is one I like a lot, but try as I might, I could not find a solution to the big white sky.... So, I took a trip back in time to the train station of my city's early years. Here are a few options for your comment, consideration. All were tweaked with different… -
Re: Haleakala Sunrise
Nice shots!...No. 3 my favorite. I remember being there with my wife in '93 on the sunrise bicycle tour. I had my Nikon FE2 and the battery died just as the sun was coming up (maybe it was the 28 degree temp :) Fortunately the FE2 had a manual setting that would work with no battery so I was able to recover within few… -
Re: *Challenge 22, Alone, A Traveler amongst the Lemmings
No, the gentleman in the decked out Land Rover Defender. It was fully equipped for adventure. It had every off-road option you could get. It just looked so out of place in the commuter traffic. There are plenty of SUV's in the Boston commute, but the Rover Defender, when done up right is a true exploration machine, bettter… -

portrait
This is Mr. Mack. He is 93 years old and still going strong. He's a real gentleman who enjoys having his picture taken. I saw him walking home from the bust stop yesterday in this suit and ask if he would like to have his picture taken one day. He showed up at my studio bright and early this morning. He was a bit upset… -
Re: Sept 8th Site Issues (can't upload & speed)
I'm uploading 461 photos at the moment - got up to 93 out of 461 and got the time out error again ETA is some 7.5-8hours on a 1Mbit VDSL line in Switzerland But looks like somehow the problem is not totally solved yet - definitely a VAST improvement but still getting the odd timeout error. If I can help in anyway or if you…
