Re: Show Us Your New SmugMug Customized Sites!
Nice site and photos. I hadn't seen your site before, so not sure how it looked prior to now. I like the creative idea behind the images on the left, but I'm on a laptop computer with a 15" screen, so a bit small. For me, the left side images are distracting and keep pulling my eyes away from your gallery photos. I don't… -

Hi Keith thanks for your kind and helpful opinion! Yes I noticed myself the issue about the FB logo; I have a 20" iMac, it's ok when viewed on Firefox but then the logo is on the lower edge of slideshow in Safari. Looks fine on a 15" Windows laptop and on my iPad too, altough the homepage layout behavior seems a bit… -
Re: Show Us Your New SmugMug Customized Sites!
Here are my two cents Someone whose opinion I appreciate once told me to minimize the number of clicks visitors need before reaching the photos. Hence – One level of folders, no sub folders. This results in “big” folders (Travel has 15 galleries) but the only place this is a slight problem is the expanded navbar. I… -
Re: Show Us Your New SmugMug Customized Sites!
I think the first step for you will be to better organise all the content you have on the site. As it stands, There is little direction as to where to go. I think your favorites gallery link should be your main portfolio page for the bulk of your content. That or break things up a little into separate folders i.e.… -
Re: Show Us Your New SmugMug Customized Sites!
Hi, just my quick thinking. Design is outdated, it looks like 15 years old html. Many pictures looks too similar. Watermark is BIG NO NO!. It blocks scenery in many pictures. If you want just copyright info, why not use small nice font in lower right or left part of every picture. If you want to prevent others from using… -
Re: Show Us Your New SmugMug Customized Sites!
Just published Hello Everyone. I finally did it. I crossed over from Legacy. It took me a while to get it all set up. What a learning curve! I live in Central Mexico and shoot abstracts and street photography. My portfolio site was designed using Dina. I wanted a clean, simple, minimal look and my goal was to convey what I… -
Re: Show Us Your New SmugMug Customized Sites!
Lee You have some very strong images, but overall I think you are displaying far too many of them. Each photo section seems to have a considerable number and on my slowish internet line it takes ages to scroll down. But even with a fast line your viewers probably only need to see 10-15 shots for each category. Once in a… -
Re: Show Us Your New SmugMug Customized Sites!
New site up and running I honestly was a little skeptical and scared about migrating to the new SM as I had heard stories about this new infrastructure (not being as customizable as the old one). Additionally I had spent a lot of hours customizing my website a couple of years ago and was afraid that I might not get the… -
Re: Show Us Your New SmugMug Customized Sites!
Thank you Denise for the comments. I really appreciate that. About weddings. I really don't want to present every wedding i'll do in the future so I wanted just some overview. If one day I will have many nice wedding galleries maybe I'll reconsider that option. I was busting my head how to organise my site, and this is…
