Re: Canon S900 - Fading Pictures
Canon recently updated their packaging for their Photo Paper Pro product. The old package had an overall sunset-type color scheme (I think), where the new package has a red over white bolder design with an overlayed photo of a sunset. So, I've got a recent product. I've stored it in my home office @ 62-68 deg., so that's… -
Re: First shots with an umbrella!
I just went to the local photo shop here in Anchorage. Bought a Giottos lightstand, a speedlight/umbrella adapter and a Wescott convertable shoot through umbrella. I got all of it for $97 out the door. Yes, the catchlights are different. I like the ease of set up and take down of the umbrella due to us being in a small… -
Re: Mirror, Mirror with Kay
Dude, you have quite a number of great images in that set, I looked thru the port, and very nice. Oh and that couch and mirror, I LOVE them!!!!! There's other images that really stand out to me as well. When you get a chance, take a full shot of that mirror, you may use it for PS layering later on. I can think of several… -
Google PageSpeed Insights
I recently ran my portfolio site through the Google PageSpeed Insights tool and the results were.....not impressive. It scored a 59 on mobile and a 54 on the desktop. I tested several other sites of Smugmug users that I know and the results were similar. Anywhere from 62 to 27. Much of the problem had to do with how… -
The ultimate toy - RC truck
I went to a toy exhibition last sunday ("Euromodelbouw" in Genk, Belgium). They were showing trains, boats, airplanes ... whatever makes a modelbuilder's heart beat faster. This beauty was riding in and out of the hall : (Now, that's what I call a RC truck) Some info: Scale 1:4 Length 380 cm Width 65 cm Height 95 cm Weight… -
Re: Thunderboat Regatta san Diego Mission Bay 2007
The 'rooster tail' in this shot, being a sidelong view, instead of the typical static 'following behind' view make this a cool shot. I love to get to the Seafair races here in Seattle, and try to get to the races on the Columbia River, in the tri-cities every two, or three, years. I've also had the grand pleasure to watch… -
Re: >> Challenge 61 Winner <<
Again, thank you all. This was fun and I'm very happy to have competed among such a great lineup of shots but as I said in my original thread, this was a bit easy. Just a lucky shot... almost like the challenge came to me. And Nikko, thank you for your assistance. Now, on to 62. I look forward to lending a hand to Mike in… -
Re: SmugMug Internal Errors When Uploading
I WAS using IE 6.0 and the IE only uploader since it's the only one I could get to work. I've just downloaded FireFox and I'm going to give the drag and drop uploader a shot tonight and will report tomorrow :) No adblocking, accelerator or additional toolbars. I do have Norton, but the firewall is set to stealth blocked… -
Re: dgrin shootout 2006 - official chatter thread
Yep. There is a Golden Age Passport for full time US residents who are 62 or older that I believe you have to buy in person at one of the national parks. I guess they want to count the grey hairs. Anyway, there is info about it on the website. I qualify :cry and plan to look into getting one after the holidays. Or maybe…
