Re: Chapter 4, Professional Photoshop, 5th Edition
Posterization occurs when you take data lying accross a given range, and you compress that range too much. For example, if you had data that previously lay along 230 to 245 in a channel, and then you steepened the curve in that area enough, that same data might be forced to fit from 235-237. This picture of the Samoyed has… -

In The Lap Of Luxury
In the world of American automobile history, no mark reached the heights that Duesenberg did. There were some worthy contenders for the crown, but Duesenberg was undeniably the King. It even spawned the term " It's a Duesy "....typically implying that, whatever the subject was, it was the best of its kind to be had. From… -

Re: DGrin is Now on Vanilla Forums
A few observations and comments, at least one new (I think) and several that support what others have said: Visibiity of the text. 1. I am finding the listing of threads very challenging to read. It might help to have more contrast and a slightly larger font. And I would really like to see who initiates the thread visible… -

Re: Novice Corner - Setting White & Black pt
Generally speaking, yes, as you want to use the full range of brightness/contrast available. If you don't do it, you lose some ability to improve contrast (detail) because of the finite mathematics involved. I can imagine cases where for artistic reasons you don't want to do this, but I think they're the exception. In any… -
Mini Challenge 237 - The Passange of Time
THE PASSAGE OF TIME I have had a lot of fun going back to places I have visited and seeing how they have changed. So that is going to be the theme for this mini-challenge. Instead of three pictures, what I would like to see is a pair of photos for each entry (so six photos altogether) which shows how some thing or some…
