Nikon 17-55 f/2.8
SOLD! Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8 AF-S DX lens. My favorite DX lens. I have sold all of my DX gear except this lens, in case I ever picked up another DX body. Mounting bills means that this lens needs to go. Optically and mechanically this lens is flawless and will not let you down. I bought this lens used and I used it day in and… -

Newer wides compared to Canon 17-35mm L (market value?)
Hello DGrinnners....first post...I'm looking for some insight. I'm looking to add a lens to my bag and wanting to get a nice wide-angle zoom lens. I primarily shoot landscape, family portraits, and concerts. I like to utilize existing light in my portraits. I currently have a Canon 7D, EF 50mm 1.4/f USM, and EF 28-135 IS… -
No rain required...
I was actually in the car with the camera on the passenger seat at the side of me when I spotted this little scene at the side of a bus stop on the way into the city centre. I made it B&W because the colour of the brolly (pink) was at odds with the rest of the scene. Photographed through the front window of the car as I… -
Re: META keywords
I agree - bio box for slideshow is not ideal. So I figured out a way to get my bio back to what it was supposed to be (about my site) and the slideshow kept separate. This isn't ideally the way I'd like it to be done forever, but it will have to do until SM makes it a feature to have bio / slideshow separate. So here's… -
Re: How To Maximize Your Findability (Search Engine Stuff)
one piece of advice I can give you is your home page. It's a particular challenge for photographers to rank in the search engines because we're all about images. But images are practically invisible to search engines. yes, alt tags help, but actual content - especially on your home page - is a major gateway, a statement of… -
Re: Color washed out using optical zoom?
Sounds like auto mode to me First off, Welcome to Dgrin! Without knowing any details. My first guess would be that the camera is set on auto everything. Your camera being smart as it is (to almost a fault) looks at the first zoomed out scene and "thinks" out the best settings to take the shot (i.e. f27 1/250). You then… -
Re: I want two SmugMug accounts
You have your galleries/category box turned off and breadcrumbs hidden so no one can browse to your, I assume Personal galleries, if they don't have a link. The link can be removed from your navbar and a hidden link can be added to your page to get to the Personal/Family galleries. The following code will add it to the top… -
Re: The Car Talk Thread
Tell him to forget the 70's...it has nothing to do with now. Jap is fast/high consumables & reliable...BMW is much slower/much lower consumables & much more reliable. relatively speaking that is. Everything else lies inbetween & references the above 2 as flagstones in what a bike sould be...be that at either end of the…
