To be you or to be me? That is the real question.
First off I want to add this first and foremost this is a topic that for some reason I can't get off my mind. By posting it I'm either gonna shot myself in the foot or make some sense And it is short of digital theropy for me so -heh - here goes. First a little about myself and what I do - I'm a seasoned IT pro of 25… -
Re: Asbestos, Mold, Mildew, Oh my.
So I've received a few PM's over the past few weeks on how I actually get access to the places that I photograph, and how I prepare for a trip to them... SO I figured this was a good place to share a post I made on another forum about this... I love abandoned buildings. I have been an urban explorer for almost 10 years now… -
Like new Averatec AV3360-EH1 512MB 80GB 12.1" DVD +/-RW with WiFi (IEEE 802.11g)
I bought this laptop in April in preparation for a two-week vacation to France so I could download photos and process them with Photoshop CS2. It met my needs for that splendidly but has just been sitting and collecting dust since I got back. Running time on the battery is a little over 3 hrs although I'm sure that… -
Mini-Challenge #186 - It's all about Plants
. Firstly, thank you Davev for picking my photo in the Beatles challenge and thanks for running an interesting and fun challenge. I've taken a look back at the very comprehensive list of previous challenges, 185 of them now spanning several years and coincidently the first of which (#1 BIFs) was set by Davev on May 4th… -
tutorial: compositing
okay guys, it's time for me to fess up on a particular photo that many of you liked very much i'm aware that there are many purists out there that believe that a photo should be an exact replica of what the scene was like. and while for the most part, i'm in agreement - i also feel that as artists, we should feel free to… -

eXtreme reverse lens macro with a Quantaray 28mm F/2.8 FD Mount Lens! -> Pics
bear with me this is a book, but should be an interesting read for macro enthusiasts.... I'm not sure how many of you are aware of reverse lens macro photography. I think there are a lot of people that think their 70-300 "macro" lens is "macro", or that they needed to spend thousands on a 65mm and twin light setup to get… -
Re: Camera's, rain and models...
Brian, The whole idea is to have complete control of your lighting hence the use of totally manual flash as well as camera settings. After meeting Scott Robert Lim I decided that I wanted that kind of control too. He uses inexpensive flashguns and radio triggers to create light that either augments or totally modifies the… -
Re: Planetbuzz - advertising oppty for pros
MarkJay, thanks for the customization tip, I missed those 5 link button completely. Can I change the name of the keys, too? E.g. I don't have any "video" stuff, I would like either to hide it completely or to replace it with names that ould make sense in my case... Now, back to the business quesiton.. First of all, thank… -
Re: Indoors, with ambience
I am shooting with a 5D too and I always carry the ST-E2 with me and I use it most of the time. You were shooting between EV11 and EV12 which means you weren't getting much ambient. You had the flash well placed in the corner of the room so it was providing both subject light and good room light. That is a great strategy…
