It was nice to see Travis, Schmoo, Ivar, and Nick today. They were working but were able to stop for a moment to say "hi".
Ann, Debbie and I had a nice drive through Napa and Sonoma up to Santa Rosa today. I LOOOOVE the windy "hill" roads, they're much more fun than stop and go traffic.
As another first today was Thai food! We met up with April and went to Thai Pepper in Sunnyvale.
I hear we may meet up with some more dgrinners tomorrow on the way south. If you see our motley crew be sure to say "hi"! Otherwise we'll see you at the party!
:oogleI saw you Tuesday...Wednesday...what day is today? :uhoh You gave me the warmest welcome of everyone:sweet, I just skipped a day. We did not make it up to Hamilton that day we went Moody Rd, Page Mill Rd, Alpine Rd. to Skyline Rd. down to Big Basin. It was a nice drive but took too long to get us over to Hamilton. Did you guys make it out there or have you been working hard?
I'm pretty sure we'll see you tonight, I'll buy you a drink to make up for it.
Well i hate to say it but i am going to have to cancel at the last minuite. due to an unexpected event i am not going to get to drive to the bay area on time so i will have to ditch this year. i hope all goes well and everyone gets home safely when it is over. have fun down there!
will anyone be there early? it turns out that i have a performance in monterey tonight (i'm a singer too) and will have to miss the party. but i was hoping to stop by and at least say 'hi' to folks.
We had a great time at the dgrin party! Thank you SmugMug for throwing the party!
Got to meet some new people, and the after party trip to SmugMug headquarters to view some super large photos was very interesting! I got to see the room where the San Francisco Skyline pano taken from Treasure Island is going! It should be amazing when it's all done.
We had a great time at the party. It was great to put some faces to the many names. Baldy was an incredible host and took a few of us back to headquarters to show off the goodies. The lightbox was incredible.
For those who have not seen a metallic print, take my advice and order one. The colors jump off of the print.
A big thanks to the Smugmug staff for putting this on. I am already looking forward to the 10th anniversary party.
It was great seeing y'all!

Sorry for the quality, it wasn't the most spacious accomodations..
Not sure who that grizzly looking guy is some of those photos but I think he has an identity complex. Great seeing everybody!! From now on we have to find a dive bar at each shootout we go on stud.

Flight landed in Edmonton at 11:22p.m. yesterday, got through customs better than I got through airport security yesterday. Cabbed it home since the dh travels today and I took pity on him. Had about 5 hrs of sort of sleep.
My hamstrings are still griping about the hike up from Kirby Cove. Had an inch of ice to scrape off my van windshield this a.m. Overall, I still really wish I were in California, or at least with all of you!
Thanks for hosting this party, Dgrin and Smugmug lust. Wish it would have gone on longer - I know there were many folks at the party that I didn't talk to and should have! (Dee, you in particular!). Ann-fail!
Cannot wait for the next opportunity to be with all of you (or small numbers at a time!) barb

I think the pictures are wonderful!
I know you are a perfectionist, but these are wonderful. As someone who was unable to attend, I felt I was there – not just in person, but it spirit. The expressions and poses you encouraged are tremendous. I enjoyed all them immensely.
Your daughter is beautiful, growing up before our eyes. And your participation is above and beyond anything anyone could ask. I am vicariously living through the shots and am enjoying every minute.

It is the purpose of life that each of us strives to become actually what he is potentially. We should be obsessed with stretching towards that goal through the world we inhabit.

My lousy physical condition isn't your fault. Thanks for being sherpa on the way up that hill! The really encouraging thing is I had my backpack on all weekend and my shoulders are fine - not even the tiniest bit sore! So I think that means I can start working on other things!
And you are right, I would gladly do that hike again too.
Thanks for the portraits. I haven't showed the dh yet (he is travelling now) but I think he will like them all!

Thanks so much to everyone who came out for this! Nik, your photos look great and I know that we all really appreciate you taking the time to do the photo booth for us. I hope everyone had a fantastic evening/weekend.... I know I did!
I have been a member since March of 04... so I missed your "beginning" by a few months.
I've created a few storms, asked a lot of questions...
and got a lot of answers and, almost always the answers came in a very timely manner.
I owe most if not all of my customization of my site to the people here in Dgrin and, a few magical sorcerers also ;-)

Without Smugmug there would be no Dgrin and, without Dgrin Smugmug would not be where it is today.... IMHO. The feedback, from the users, the ideas shared by Smugmug with Dgrinners, it all comes together.
Have a great day today!

Given the amount of vegans in the group, maybe it would be hummus instead?
