The Wait
The waiting is driving me nuts here,,, I mean I do not claim to be a patient person or anything,, but can we get an update as to where it is at or how far along it is?
pretty pleazzzzzzz...
is it 72 hours or more with this mega thing?
the suspense is killing me..
quick, someone do something entertaining...
ok.. well I guess I will get back to work for awhile.. come on just a little update?
For everyone: we have all asked for more critiques and feedback. Well, we just got a good dose. I would say be careful what you ask for, but I'm caffeinated. Instead I'll say we have a great community here, but the world outside isn't always going to be as accomodating. Critiques aren't always going to be nice. It's tough—we artists can be a sensitive lot—but it's your choice what you take out of any critique or compliment. Listen to it. Learn from it. Move on.
Everyone, let's move on.
Let's move forward!
I'd posit that Artists need to argue on occasion as well. Van Gogh didn't cut his own ear off. It took two male artists arguing over a woman. :duel
Manbou, thank you for grabbing the edge of the scrim and reaching through. It's engendered a good discussion. But I also agree with Kerry in terms of style. It will be a fine line to tread, but hopefully a truly valuable one.
just an honest question here, manbou? is English a Native language for you?
Why would you doubt that I am a native speaker of English? My command of the language is much better than yours, given your inability to correctly compose, capitalize, and punctuate a simple sentence.

KAt, i assume your talking about the mega results....
i also assume they will get finished as soon as they get finished.:D
yes, that's what I am talking about... just wanted an update is all gezeesh... no big deal.. I have never sat through a Mega before, just curious as to the time lapse.. thanks for reminding me of the obvious..
Now that's just rude that you have all that at hand. How about a nice glass of Chardonnay instead?
Of course, if we have to stick to ice cream, I'll stand by that it isn't the flavour but the source that makes the difference. Anyone up for a trip to Tosci's in Cambridge?
Brian are you saying we are crazy? good call there...
hey you got any good referrals?
I am on a tight budget here... and what is the suggestion if you don't have 10K for a therapist or camera gear? what then guys? huh?
you bunch of Richie Riches... what about us meager folk on budgets?
what are we to do for therapy?huhhuh
let me guess, go for a walk... lolrolleyes
Kat, I'm so broke my wife and I got married just for the rice.
However, a fun afternoon project is to create your own light tent using a cardboard box, old (clean!) t-shirts, and masking tape. Better than therapy and more useful, too.
I totally get where everyone is coming from, however I just want to create some balance, let us not forget that without manbou's stinging critiques, we would not have had such a rich discussion.
I'm a big fan of American Idol (it is extremely entertaining folks), and Simon is a big part of what makes the show great. He calls it like he sees it, and can be very offensive.
We have become very polite and politically correct here in our culture. We could use a bit more honest criticism in my view....and yes, I know there is a "proper" way to do it, but not everyone, i.e. Simon/manbou necessarily have the training and sensitivities that others have. Nevertheless, they provide an important service....their uncensored, unfiltered, authentic opinion.
Everything is a polarity, and I just thought I would provide some perspective on the other side of the coin, even though I totally am sympathetic to what has been said by many of you.
I am not trying to stir things up just for the sake of stirring things up. I believe this is an important conversation since we are all here primarily for constructive feedback. It is not always easy, and often difficult, for many to provide balance and authenticity. Some just spit out their knee jerk reactions which is easy, and yes, can hurt.
Hey, when is the last time you heard me ramble. Thanks for listening.

wonderful message, and i would hope to thank him someday.
I will calm down and get back to work finally... home office can be difficult with this new DG addiction...

Kat
A regular office is difficult with that kind of addiction!!

1. When you meet someone, first impressions usually last forever.
2. There's pretty much nothing that $10k of therapy won't cure.

I'd rather spend the $10k on gear, myself ...
it makes me all tingly inside when i save forever and get something nice
(i hope that came out right...)
I think it came out right... which is a little disappointing because it would have been way funnier if you said something inappropriate!!

keep your gear clean, and repeat as necessary
