The lighting in all of these shots is to die for. #2, for me, really seems to capture its subject most successfully. It has great angles and the light and color are perfect.

The second image is also used for my long time project Work thumb
At my left there is large garage door with light coming from the pavement (white stone) and trees some 12 meters away.
The Sun was shinning and I used a second flash which was bounced against the low white ceiling , placed inside the working space.
The equipment was Canon 5D + ST-E2 + 430 EX + 580 EXII + 24-70 f/2,8
Thank you for commenting. D
Great set Antonio! I like them all, but this one really grabs me! Nice composition, great colors, interesting subject and a very natural, relaxed pose.
Thank you Saurora
He was kind of paying in that position when I pointed to the camera making gestures asking if he could be photographed.
He instantly posed very straight and unnatural.
Then, I - with gestures - told him to be relaxed in the position he was before.
I was kind of a monkey imitating him for a moment
He set the position and ... there we are.
Thank you for watching Saurora !
These are all great but #2 is a real stand-out for me. I have liked the square-crop for sometime now but I don't come close to executing it like these.
Thanks for sharing and making me want to go practice SCP some more!
The SCP that you linked to is one of my favorite photos of my youngest daughter. Thanks for taking the time to find that one.
Here is one from a few weeks. This is a younger brother on my daughter's (same daughter) softball team. During the game, I take random shots of the "crowd."

Thank you Like for posting this picture in this thread!
While writing this I noticed that you also have posted two other pictures but I don't see them. May be other can ...
This is not in fact, in my humble opinion one of your best. But the best photos are - often - among others not so good in spite of our efforts to make good pictures most of the time.:D
You image looks a bit blurred I don't know exactly...:D
Regards.
Come on Mike, let's have another one please
Antonio,
Where ya' been man? I've missed you on the board.
I must say; all your persistence for learning and trying different techniques has definitely payed off for you. These are very nice images.
I'm proud for you
Well Randy, thank you for saying that. Very nice and kind of you.
You people change your avatar and I can't remember who you are ...
Oh yeh... Randy ! The one with a large American hat !!! Oh that's you then.rofl
Randy, I liked best your previous avatar. It gave you a stronger personality than this one. This one has a "common" hat or cap, whatever you call itrofl
If you are not the one I think I am doomed scratch
What happened to me. I don't know. Nothing happened to me, unless the fact that I am trying to get into the Portuguese groups of photography.
Art groups, groups that make exhibitions and stuff like that. A minority in fact.
But I feel I am too technical, little speculative...
Portugal is a small country as you know and the circle is also small and elitist...
Here is nice and I have learned a lot. I still remember - why shouldn 't I ? - some fantastic people like your self, Jim (Pathfinder) and others I can't remember now as I write.
And I am also posting in an European Forum if that ever exists. Less than before, but insisting, insisting looking for new directions, new trends and routes.
Many interesting things can be seen in the net like Sebastião Salgado, Edwrad Burtynskt, just to name two we can follow and look at their fantastic work.
A work with much quality, commitement and ... "money eater" wink
You know what I mean don't you by "money eater work", don't you ?
Well Randy, I think I will come here more often to read your flatering posts ! No, I am joking.
But I will be around.
And I would like to say something else I almost forgot:
I am not selling Lightroom, but this program is responsable for my "jump" inside photography because it is rather easy to work with and simple.
I am sorry I didn't begin with Aperture some time ago when my son wanted to give it to me, when I first bought my also first Mac.:cry
Sometimes we look and we don't see. But that is human isn't it ?
Be Healthy my friend. D

Yep Antonio,
that's still me, even though I changed my avatar.
I understand all you said & how your attention has been redirected, but I personally find your constant desire for learning & practice an inspiration.
I'm just asking that you post here when you have time.

Pretty good !
May be the eyes are a bit over... over what ? too light, too clair. Oh that is not English.
I mean they are too bright ! That's it. Too bright. It's brightness is a little overdone.
Oh boy, may be this is just my wonderful Mac that is leading me to this conclusion and the image is fantastic.
Thank you for posting.
If you have more, be my guest ! thumb:D

In my other post, a member noticed something odd. The pupils had blue in them, so I blackened them. I hadn't done anything in post other than clone some stray hairs and slightly, and I do mean slightly, upped the brightness of the pic.
I replaced the image posted above with the correction to the pupils.
The Square
Hi, Antonio - Thanks for posting these. In this digital age the square is too often forgotten. It's a wonderful frame within which to work.
I particularly like the first shot, for it's color and tonality, and composition. I think the square tends to work best when the subject is not centered. I also like to get fairly tight on the subject.
On the other hand, centered can also work well - but again, tighter, closer, is usually better.
