Harsh light is always a problem for me.
But when I don't have time to ask my model to pose in the shadows I shoot anyway. Then, I work the picture on the computer using both LR and CS.
Here, in location, I was careful with the background which had a minor clone for some kind of spot on the somewhere in the field.
I am sorry she is not looking at us ...:(
2. Family (my boyfriend, his sister and his nieces - lighting here was hard... an impromptu family photo under a low roof, no flash, no reflector, and bright bright sunlight reflecting of the gulf behind them)
3. Boy at Farmers' Market (this one needs work - exposure and sharpening)
4. The Mighty Quinn
5. Me
As for the last few SCPs posted, the BW conversion on the portrait of the old man in a turban looks like it needs the darks to be just a little bit darker, but I definitely prefer it in BW. Nice capture of him and the old woman in the next portrait.
Kozelsky for posting in this thread.
Your photo is a bit soft but the light is very good.
As for the others you have posted they look good but need however, some improvements... :D
I shot the self portrait after having the SLR for just under a month, I think... had a really hard time with the focus... I just held a broom out while I was standing behind the camera so that the end of the broom would be somewhere close to where I was standing, then hit the timer and ran into place Not perfect by any means, but at least something, right?

that's awesome! and I'm quite impressed with the focus you got that way!
Hello Tortilla.:D
Your three photos are very nice.
I like them very much because of they "treatment" and the mood they have remembering images taken during pregnancy.
The crop - very tight - is also a plus.
for posting.
Keep shooting nice pictures like these.
Hello Antonio, Hope life is treating you well. Did you shoot this image soft, or was that an oversight? Most of your shots are sharp. That's what you get for consistantly producing great images
Hello Randy !
How are you ?
This picture suffers from one problem which I have corrected a little.
Her vail - green - is invading her face with color. I tried to clone or disguize it with the adjustment brush in LR with some success.
The photo was taken at bright sun light on the way I don't like. :cry No alternative what so ever.
The robe is burned and I had to crop very straight to get the SCP.
I inspected the image before doing the crop to make sure that I would have a nice picture a the end.
Antonio, I'm really enjoying your work. It has for some time now been at a very high level ~ Oh, and it looks like Orange hair is "IN" Take care my friend!
I know you prefer constructive criticism on your images, but I just don't have any for the last two. VERY well done
Matter of fact: Can you share your processing with us?
Randy
But tell me: what about the canvas ?
How do you prefer ? With the shadow and digital signature or the new one with real signature ?
Well, I like best the second. But do you ?
I would like to ear your opinion.:D thumb:D

I personally prefer the canvas without the drop-shadow.
If it's not important to you that viewers can't READ your name, then I like the new real signature. But, if you want viewers to know who produced the image, then I'd stick with the digital signature.

Good point. I didn't think about that. People can't identify me by the signature.
Never mind. The image looks better the way I do now, for me that is.
Oh well, it looks more "artistic" this way.
I am very pretentious am I not ? :D
The idea just came to me the other day when I saw two images signed by hand - yes by hand - and with a pencil. The pencil gives a smooth and natural flow to the writing and drawing that is very attractive to me.
I thought I could do the same or similar and so I did.
But in fact, the images from the great photographers are they signed ?
Am I a great photographer ? Surely not.:cry

I applied a little vignetting.
I post here the raw file without any treatment.
