You'll notice on your site next time you login (if you've got more than one sale) that we ask you to fill out your customer contact email. This is because now, with our newest release today, your customers can reach you, directly and securely, with our Contact the pro form:
Your customers will see a link in your footer 'contact' which'll fire this form. Your email address is not shown or seen by robots or spambots, so don't worry about that.
FAQs
1. Whoa - I want SmugMug to do all my customer service, that's why I'm paying SmugMug!
No worries - emails from help pages and the shopping cart will still fire off to SmugMug support heroes. But clicking the contact link in your gallery, category, homepage and other parts of your site, the email will go to you directly. These emails are always about stuff that we have to contact you for anyhow
2. Where do I enter my customer contact email?
Control panel, Pros tab. Click the 'edit' link and put in your email address. Yes, it can be different from the address you use for your SmugMug account. Once you enter it, we'll send a validation email to your email address - click the link in that email to validate and you're all done. If you don't do this now, we'll ask you next time you login (and then not ever again).
3. What's the catch - will SmugMug spam me or give this email out to anyone?
Never.
4. My contact email is already entered, and has been for a while. I can't see the form!
Go to the pros tab, control panel, and click 'edit' for your customer contact email - then click save, and get the validation email. Click the link on that email and then you're all set.
Enjoy - help pages and release notes coming very soon.

It would be even cooler if I could put my logo or photo on the form instead of the old guy
Thanks,
Sam

Edit:
I've logged out and back in to get the prompt to enter my email, and have subsequently confirmed my email and followed the redirect to my page. I'm not seeing the link on my site: www.moxiephotos.com
Do I need to have one of the smugmug footers turned on for it to show? Thanks!

I tried logged-in and out, same result.
I wasn't prompted to enter a contact email but I see it was already filled-up.

Great new feature !
Only thing I would suggest is (see att. sample of my own test of this feature) the need to change the "Homepage URL:" that smugmug is furnishing to my customers using the contact form to indicate my choosen URL...in my case its http://HooliganUnderground.com instead of http://rich56k.smugmug.com...
what can be done about this?

Mine shows my custom URL. Strange.

Thanks. I did but it only worked on second try using the same confirmation link.
Cool feature but since I'm never happy , I'd prefer a full stand-alone contact page like borealphoto.com/contact so it could be linked from the navbar, complete with html-able field names so I could serve a French and English contact page.
borealphoto.smugmug.com
OK so I tried from firefox logged out and it showed HooliganUnderground.com,
when I tried initially I was logged in on Safari that came thru as rich56k.smugmug.com
I think we're OK
so as roseanne rosanna-danna used to say... 'never mind'

Cool... from FireFox 3.5.7 it works as planned (from the homepage it shows homepageURL correctly)
However, from Safari 4.0.4 it's giving me a gallery URL !!?? (instead of the homepage URL)
not so much a problem - but maybe a Safari bug?

Hi Andy,
But I'm 'firing' from my homepage...
in FF it's OK, from homepage in Safari it's showing the gallery link (!)
hence my thought its a Safari bug

I'm getting the same result even after validating several times. Every time I log into my smugmug account, I see the screen where it asks you to enter your e-mail address and save it as if I havent already done it. When I click "contact" in my footer, it keeps redirecting me to:
http://www.smugmug.com/help/emailreal
Ive tried sending myself several different validation e-mails and also just clicking on the same validation e-mail link several times with the same result.
Also, I'm getting the same result with both IE and Firefox.

Andy,
The issue has been resolved. I tried again this morning and it worked without a hitch. Thanks if you did some tweaking.
