I am still doing some minor tweaks but here is my site. I'm an event Photographer who mainly does weddings. I'm still tweaking it but would love to get any feedback or suggestions.
Nice job! I especially liked the way you did your options page! Kinda different than most Wedding SmugMug pages. Well done! Also, like the way you price your weddings.

Really like your site but especially your work--wonderful images!
Redleash, I like your site as well - was roaming around and - your navbar sublinks, did you know you have an "extra" "blank" one at the bottom? It's an active link.

Thanks, ChancyRat. I thought I had fixed that but clearly it still isn't working. I will try again.

I received my logo design today and have been tweaking with my website to convey my style. It is not completely finished, but it has certainly improved since the Legacy days! http://www.zone8photography.com
I'm really impressed by this website: http://www.arkenstudios.com
I like the movement when scrolling over the images and the boarder under the images. Does anyone have a CSS code to create this effect?:confused
I am in love with DigitalGrin this month! What useful information you are providing! A shout out to my two favorite generous men - Aaron Meyers and Nicholas Sherlock! I have taken the information and CSS code to great use. Thank you Pillar Point Poster for putting a name to the tiny logo in the url bar & Denise Goldberg for the how to upload a Favicon to Smugmug.

It's all lovely ponies, pretty ladies, and seriously healthy-looking people. So it's fine by me!:D
Veryyyy interesting. What content blocks did you use to achieve the photo+narrative?
Also - not sure you intended this, but the ad choices block is overlaying other blocks.
I guess you might just be sharing photos with family & friends, but if not it might be nice to have a page about who you are on there. Having a page with some useful text on it about you makes it easier to find your site in Google, too.
Here is a customization worth noting. Jaki Good Miller from Ohio / West Virginia specializes in Seniors, Weddings, Portraits and Fine Art. She has four different themes with special navigation for each theme, client login and even specialty designed pages (check out the 411 style guide). Her art is amazing !
I'm a little confused, Jerry. Are you related to Jaki?
Jerry is JR Customization, presumably the company who built that design.
I think that side menu customisation is pretty neat, I noticed that it includes all the links from all the sections of the site, and then it hides the links that don't apply to the current section with CSS in a theme which is different for each site section.
It's somewhat unfortunate that, like Fastline Media, you don't seem to give any advice for photographers to change the search settings to disallow SmugMug and Google searches for "hidden" client galleries. This causes them to be listed in the sitemap and indexed by Google. Client privacy could be improved by making this recommendation.
Using different colors for the different areas of the site is interesting, but I find that text on a patterned background can be difficult to read. Some of the background colors work for the text, some don't. And the hover text is virtually unreadable.
Once I am in a section of the site I have no idea where I am. Why not include a section title somewhere, maybe as a non-clickable entry on the menu bar? Instead of "Home", change the entry to match the section.
I've never understood the habit of having a blog button that essentially goes to an empty page. Or for that matter, menu entries that just go to a page that says "coming soon". Not there, don't include it in the menu.
! I found it by Googling. There can only be one Kilted Snapper! I think the name is good. I was going to say it's snappy, but that wouldn't do would it?
I know black used to be the 'new white', and white was recently the 'new black', and perhaps black is once again the 'new white' (which used to be black) I just wish we could all decide and stick to it (I'm white). I think a little bit of colour on the pages might reduce the slight severity of the black, especially with mono images. That's not to say that my opinion means anything. After all it's not a black and white world - it's black OR white.
In addition I'd recommend revisiting your text colors. I find dark gray against black to be difficult to read. The hover color works but your default text doesn't. I know, I know, a lot of people seem to like the gray on black. It may look elegant but I think it's also important to make it easy to read.
Yes, thank smugmug for that, I have yet figured out a way to change the smugmug home breadcrumb to direct to my actual home? The solution I am working on is to overlay it with my own home icon that directs to my actual home, but it is a clunky solution at best, and requires a bunch of css for different screen sizes.
Feel free to send me a message, I am happy to share
Good job with the SM/WP integration. I'm using WP on my site. My SM site is a subdomain.
I couple things. I'm not using "Lobster Two" on my computer so I see "Cursive" as a fone. Looks too much like "Comic Sans". You need to add your Google font to your <head> tag. An easy fix.
You can always create your own breadcrumbs on your SM site. This way it will all match. That's what I did.
The first thing I look for is an "About Me" page. I don't see when. FWIW, I grew up in PA (near Pittsburgh), so I'm really curious where your located.
Not sure I like your "leaf background header" and the background photo. The background photo looks too "busy" to me. The header-background, I just don't think it looks "professional" to me.

Remove the home link that SM offers as a default, and replace it with a custom URL, which would be the homepage you really want?

Thanks, should be fixed. For some reason I had to add a link of its own. Combining it with my other google fonts would not work.

I just want to change the "home" breadcrumb link to go to toddsphotos.com???

I have some pages to add. The about me and contact will be on the home page once I make some more content. The home will be a single page with multiple sections, parallax background and parallax headers, with nav links jumping to the sections. That was my reasoning with the many different header parts. Probably pointless and way over the top, but hopefully a bit creative. I just need to work on making it mobile friendly first

The only way that I can think of is to create your own breadcrumbs. You will have to remove the SM breadcrumbs box and add the HTML to each gallery settings under "Description". This is what I have on one of my Galleries (Central Valley)
<ul id="myBreadcrumbs">
<li itemscope itemtype="http://data-vocabulary.org/Breadcrumb" class="home"><a href="/" itemprop="url"><span itemprop="title">Home</span></a></li>
<li class="sep">»</li>
<li itemprop="child" itemscope itemtype="http://data-vocabulary.org/Breadcrumb" class="category"><a href="/Portfolio/" itemprop="url"><span itemprop="title">Portfolio</span></a></li>
<li class="sep">»</li>
<li itemprop="child" itemscope itemtype="http://data-vocabulary.org/Breadcrumb" class="category"><a href="/Landscape-and-nature/" itemprop="url"><span itemprop="title">Landscape and Nature Gallery</span></a></li>
<li class="sep">»</li>
<li itemprop="child" itemscope itemtype="http://data-vocabulary.org/Breadcrumb" class="current">Central Valley</li>
</ul>
<div class="portfolio">
<h1>Central Valley</h1>

Unveiled site - I'd LOVE feedback!
Please, I'd really like constructive feedback on this! Now that it's unveiled, I'm not terribly excited about the flow of the site, and I think it doesn't quite work right on some of the galleries.

A page about yourself would be good.
I will put up an about me page and look at introducing colour, many thanks for reviewing this though its much appreciated and welcomed

WHOAAAA that is Magnificent. If you don't mind, I might message you to ask you how to got to some of the formatting.
FYI, from this page:

If I click the home icon in the breadcrumb, I'm not taken Home, but instead to:
