Send to Smugmug - Upload Tool

FYI -- this was originally posted to dgrin one (1) year ago -- it's a great tool --- I used the "send to smugmug" function to simulteanously upload photos in 10 different folders --- left it running - went to bed & was all complete in the a.m. This is for those who missed this info.

This is totally unsolicited -- a very satisfied user -- if you like it -- might consider sending a $ thank you Omar's way.

So, do you right click on a folder, set it up and hit upload. Then while it is uploading, right click on another folder, set it up and upload and so on?
Smugmug address - http://camlaird.smugmug.com
Exactly.
Or if you are like me, and you have folder heirarchies of mixed good/bad photos, you spend some time in the tool and in a background window pruning the list of files to upload first...
“PHOTOGRAPHY IS THE ‘JAZZ’ FOR THE EYES…”

Are you clicking on the actual image or the file name/ folder?
To make it work right click the folder or file name you wish to send. The pop up menu that appears will have a selection for "Send to Smugmug". Hope this helps...
Thanks!
I've never had that issue... I'd contact the person who wrote the code...Sorry...
When I installed Nikon Capture NX, I had to intall .NET Framework 2.0. Now send to smugmug opens, but won't send an files (the file list is blank). I can't find Omar's email address to contact him.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Hey Tom. Sorry for the trouble.
Can you try and download the latest version to see if that fixes the problem?
http://www.shahine.com/software/sendtosmugmug/sendtosmugmug.msi
I got .NET 2.0 working a while ago, so things should work fine.
Thanks for the quick reply, but no luck. I tried reinstalling .NET 2.0, then restarting, then renstalling sts, then restarting, but the progress bar "stalls" as you can see in the screenshot. No files are in the filename window to be uploaded.
NikonGirl - Sorry if I've misunderstood your post, but if you are right clicking on the filename of the image, the program does not run. You need to right click on the folder containing your images for the program to run. You will get a list of all the images in that folder and you can select "checkbox" which photos to upload.

So this should have nothing to do with your installing .net 2.0... at least I hope not.
My guess is that one of your images is casuing my code to choak (which is bad). Can you try on a smaller subset of files to see if that fixes it?
I've tried it with several different folders/images. Doesn't seem to work anymore. Bummer.
The only thing I can think of that's changed is .NET. I installed a few drivers, such as one for my Intous pad, but I don't understand why that would affect it (not my area of expertise, though).
I've been working on a new build that has substantially improved much of the code that loads/uploads images.
If you are willing I could send you a build to try out in the next few days.
Just sent me an email to shahineo at hotmail.com
i rebuilt a computer and installed send to smugmug to use just as i have been doing on my old system. for some reason i can not get the tool to flag the previously uploaded files when loading to the same gallery. works fine on the old system, but not on the new one. can anyone give me a suggestion? i have clicked on the filter selection and filter duplicates, but nothing happens. i can't see where to find the version number, but when i click on chek for update, both tell me that it is the current version.
Can you instead try and download this version:
http://shahine.com/garage/files/folders/sendtosmugmug/entry37.aspx
I installed Omars Garage Sale Code here (most current version). Followed the instructions. Everything says it installed fine.
I go to export a test image to see how it works before I start really using it and I get an error message saying a problem occured and the application needs to be shut down.
And yes, I tried rebooting before I posted this.
Details:
Running Vista Premium 32bit(and LOVE it).
Quote from Omars page: "1.0.6340.0 installs under Vista and works under Vista" (I did not see anywhere as to which versions of Vista it was compatible w/. Vista premium is pretty common though.
All hardware is more than adequate.
Vista description of failure:
Description:
Stopped working
Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Users\***_****\AppData\Local\Temp\WERC199.tmp.v ersion.txt
C:\Users\***_****\AppData\Local\Temp\WERCF60.tmp.m dmp
Any ideas on this?

Jon, can you try the beta version of Send to smugmug (found on my site in the files section)?
http://www.shahine.com/garage/files/folders/sendtosmugmug/entry37.aspx
Uninstalled original version.
Went to you link and installed Beta.
Same exact problem and error message.
I'm game to use a different application to upload. So far I've had bad luck w/ apps. I tried Nikolai's I*E and it doesn't even show on my system after it installs.
Any recomendations to other u/l apps to get shots to SM?
-Jon
Do you think can you send me an email and describe what happens?
I'm positive we can resolve this very quickly.
Thanks!
Thanks in advance for all the help.
I know this will get fixed!
-Jon
(I love I*E too Nikolai but am too cheap now to buy it)
I have been using sendtosmugmug forever but since a new update earlier this week on smugmug, I have not been able to use your program.
It opens fine, logs in fine and I setup the new gallery, but when I click upload it pops up a friendly error box with this in teh details:
Then you click details and you get all this:
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.
What do you think, did SMugmug change something?
What do you think? Have not restarted, but I will do that.
