    Pete, this is a HACK. Hacks have to be upgraded after any changes to systems.

    With all due respect, Andy and crew, BZT is a lot more useful to me than gradients or even popular photos!

    So, it's good you have this hack that Devbobo has put a lot of time and energy into making :D

    JT wants to add this, and it's on the list but not at the top. We'll see - no promises on if/ when.

    Updated version (grab the javascript from the first post)....should fix the problems that popped up after the latest SM release.

    Anthony and Pete,

    Thanks for your assistance, the scripts are up to date in both of your accounts. thumb.gif

    Anthony,

    I didn't have any problems using the BZT on your password protected galleries, the only problem was on one gallery originals wasn't enabled. Let me know if you are still having problems.

    Ryan,

    Are you still wathcing this thread ? If so, can you please give this version a go...and let me know if it works. ne_nau.gif

    Cheers,

    David

    So far so good. It works on my public galleries as well as my password protected galleries.

    I'm still getting the 2 BZT boxes, but I know how to get rid of that - and even with the 2 boxes the first box works just fine.

    I appreciate all the hard work you have done for me and many others.

    Andy:

    Yeah, I know it's a hack-- but it's a darn good one! I understand hacks aren't supported in smugmug upgrades-- and I understand why. Not complaining here-- in fact I'm so happy David updated and kept this going that really-- I'm smiling ear to ear today. Thank you for even considering the idea of making BZT an official SM feature. I'm still a happy camper and appreciate all the official support you provide. The unofficial support is a HUGE bonus too.

    ryan, in your footer you have this line of code:

    addEvent(window, "load", addBulkThumbnail);

    take it out, it's already in the bulk zoom code. that's why you're getting 2 BZT boxes.

    Hey, I was just stating a fact not trying to make an excuse :D

    but I must say the change from absolute to relative pathing for thumbnails was IMO not a small change, not that anyone else would have noticed.

    Pete,

    Glad to hear that things are up and running.

    As Andy said these hacks are supported, unfortunately. I originally wrote this hack as a bit of fun and to show people what is possible with smugmug customisation if you free ur mind thumb.gif

    Hi.

    This will be very nice once I get it to work. Thank you in advance!

    I tried adding the following:

    css.txt contents -> CSS block
    javascript.txt contents -> Javascript block
    header.txt contents -> Header or Footer block

    as described, and did not see any difference. Am I missing something, or could it be that my existing css is conflicting with this?

    Thank you,
    Mark

    sure Gary....

    The Javascript code has function that automatically loads ....

    addEvent(window, "load", addBulkThumbnail);

    addBulkThumbnail checks to see if you're loggedIn and on a Traditional gallery page, if not it does nothing.

    So basically there is nothing to implement, apart from adding the code.

    Hope this helps,

    David

    http://ourlife.smugmug.com it's hard for us to tell, you've not actually put any of the code on your site. Please do that, and then we can get you sorted deal.gif

    I added the code and it seems to have no effect. I must be missing something obvious. My end goal is to have square thumbs on the homepage ((ike http://www.moonriverphotography.com), on the category pages, and in each gallery (like http://wellman.smugmug.com/gallery/1266553)

    Thank you,

    You've got the BZT Javascript in your footer. I'm willing to bet my last bbq rib dinner that Devbobo's instructions say to put them in your Javascript block....

    Move it, and then let us know :)

    ok, everything looks fine at first glance.

    what seems to be the problem?

    better yet, what is the expected behavior that you are not seeing? are there any errors? screenshots are always helpful.

    I was hoping to have all my thumbs be square. I had originally asked that, and was directed to use this code.

    yeah, ok. this code wont automagically make all your thumbs square. it's a tool that will help you bulk zoom your thumbnails instead of having to zoom thumbnail one by one.

    you need to familiarize yourself with the zoom thumbnail option in the photoTools menu, once you understand what that does go back into your gallery and check the box that says "bulk zoom thumbnail". the rest should be self explanitory.

    Mark:

    1) y our background is white, on a black based theme, which means all the helping text is going to be white on white. Change the color in your customization panel to be "white" in the chckbox at the top...

    2) the thumbs aren't automagic - you actually have to do something to make them happen. Like tick the box, that says "bulk zoom thumbnail...."
