    Science Experiments.

You know, those containers of old food that get pushed to the back of the fridge and your are afraid to open them when you are cleaning it out. When you do, you tend to say, "What WAS that???" I, myself, tend to have many of those. Sometimes the mold makes excellent macros!

I am looking at a book for subjects

    1) Lines, such as fences, staircases, trees?
    2) Abstracting, being aware of and looking at familiar "things" as shapes
    3) Texture, ripples on a pond, frayed thread, peeling paint, etc
    4) Perspective, wide angle lenses to create.....and long to create........
changing the feel of distance, size, etc.
    Light on perspective?
After all is said and done, it is the sweet tea.

    *Mind over matter*
Main rule: show a photo that really needs to be thought about, not just taken for granted with a simple: "wow, that's beautiful". This is, IMHO very attainable through minimalism with 'key-elements' but that is not necessary
    Some examples to clarify :D
    1. Show a photo that clearly demonstrates human ingenuity (BUT, make sure it follows the main rule)
    2. Show a photo that clearly demonstrates a situation of thought (like a student working on a test etc, make sure to follow the main rule)
In short, show the 'mind' of the situation you portray with your photo and make sure it stimulates the mind of the viewer. Perhaps the words 'deeper understanding' might be accurate to describe the goal....
    Okay, my suggestion then:
Mind over matter, a deeper understanding
I'm very interested to know what people think about this :D
*In my mind it IS real*

    Challenge Suggestions
I love these challenges although have entered any yet. I want to suggest "street people". People who live on the street, bums, vagrants, whatever name is used.

    Some of my suggestions:

    ABSTRACTS
BOKEH - Photo must show bokeh
    BLACK & WHITE
CIRCLES - anything circular or spherical
FLASH - creative use of flash.
    SHALLOW DEPTH OF FIELD
LONG EXPOSURE - Minimum 1 second
    LIGHT & SHADOW
    MINIMALISM
MAKING NOISE WORK - Deliberately take a noisy photo but one where the noise enhances the photo. Hmmm.
    REPETITION-TITION-TITION
    SQUARES
    SURREALISM
    TRIANGLES
    TABLETOP
SET EXPOSURE - photo must be shot at a predetermined exposure chosen by the host. Weirder the exposure the better.

Or a throw back to the good old GAMES magazine... What is that picture of ... do you remember that page, it would have 10, usually macro shots, of somewhat common items and the challenge wat to identify the item...

    could be fun.

And the 7 sins could be fun on a not gutter type of way... 7 items in 1 image, or 7 images put togeather in PS, could be a good challenge.

    How about "Ugly"

Things in everyday life that may be considered ugly, but with a bit of creativity and some photo techniques, can become art.

    Cheesy, but might be fun
