We took our M5 to NHIS last week, open track day. We got in trouble for "drifiting" through turn 3. ne_nau.gif I have no idea what they were talking about. mwink.gif

So this is motorcycle talk, but if I'm a bit cranky today or the next couple days, this is why:

If you don't want to read, here's the punchline: Look at this photo and think about the setting I'm in. Not a good morning.

The bummer is that we think he may need more than a wheel.

Hey Doc, the wife doesn't have her own tool kit does she?headscratch.gif

Yeah, Um, anti-seize on threads and bolts that you want to stay in place to keep you alive is a bad thing. It's better to have to use more force to get them off than to have it take little force to get them off so that they can unscrew them selves.

thumb.gif The A4 is a very popular car. I'm sure there is a wide variety of wheel styles available in that size.

On the way home, I saw an A4, prolly '04-05, with a nice fender flair and
a nice stagger. About the only problem was the spoiler--yuck.

Damn Doc. I totally missed that. Glad you're still in one piece.

I have one for you. Coming home from lunch at Alice's, I picked a road
that's kinda bumpy but fun. It's been chip sealed and recently. Made for
    a nice slippery ride thumb.gif

Dang Doc, that sucks. I would have thought you'd know better than to put anti-seize on a lug bolt...and here I was thinking MB was being overly cautious when they warn not to put anti-seize on lug bolts in the manual.

Thanks? Well, you know, I did live with a very competent mechanic for 4 years and he always did. This teaches me not to go by any universal rules. As in "never put anti-seize on a lug bolt", rather, refer to what the manufacturers and designers call for. In the case of the GS, they say no. Most trucks, tractors and other heavy machinery on the other hand, actually call for it.

Anyway, as you were. I'm over it, can we get back to picking on Antrieb? :D

Have you let the guy know that the mechanic he was using was a complete scum-bucket?

I sure have. We’re also going to call the mechanic direct. He’s a very large garage that services most foreign cars in my Dad’s area.

Huh I'm confused. I thought you had already gotten your new car from the place that screwed up your last new car?
Yeah & 3 days after getting the replacement i drove it 600 klms into a remote area & the starter crapped itself leaving me stranded. I was not ment to own a VW !

    Zac,

May I suggest a complete rebuild at this point before driving it.

I don't know much about BMW suppliers, but I hope those are OEM. AutohausAZ, like any WoldPac parts supplier, sells a lot of junk (and a lot of good stuff too...you just have to be wary about the aftermarket brands, I'd say WorldPac parts suppliers sell about 80% good stuff and 20% garbage).
