For some reason I decided to be grown up today, and I changed my bio photo to a more flattering one (although the avatar shot is still one of my favorites as it was taken by a great friend, on a fun trip).

Howdy All!!
What a disrespectfull way to post your first self portrait on Dgrin. :lynn
I slid down a hill this evening taking pictures, nice NC red clay!
(i have successfully stained my black jeans :cry)

Ok. Help! Looks like i posted a link. What am i doing wrong? Anyone.
You hit the link button for URL instead of IMG, which is the little mountain looking button. I fixed your post, if you quote it you will see what it should be.
Here is a thread that should answer your photo linking questions. It is a good place to make test posts too.
Alright, I'll post my mug too. Everyone must be getting tired of just seeing my kids and husband all the time so I guess a picture of me will be different.
Here's mine!
I'm not sure what a self-portrait says about the person who took it. I figure there must be some hidden meaning that people smarter than myself can easily decode. You know, self-portrait = some sort of freudian Rorschach inkblot test of psychological personality . . .
Anyway, they're fun and here's one of mine:
Not a self-portrait but here's me finishing the NYC marathon on a handcycle. What's a handcycle, you ask? Go to ushf.org or handcycling.com for info.
I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

Viva Las Vegas! I thought this turned out more interesting in B&W when I was playing around with the channel mixer, it also removed the plethora of power lines. Those are sunglasses I am wearing.
Yup. I recognize the distortion on the lower part of your face. The closest Patch gets to a smile is a pained grimace, like someone's pulling out his toenail.
Greetings from the UK.....
I was messing about and decided to post a pic of 'Paul' Bodwick Bodwickson standing in-front of the camera ....
I reduced brightness by 100 just because I can.......
Greetings to you all. Those I've known for some time through their posts from other sites, those of you who's posts I've enjoyed on dgrin and to those yet to join who's post's I've yet to read...
Life's too short so make sure you enjoy whatever you do.....
You asked for it - so don't blame me!
Well, here is my mug. There are a couple of points worth mentioning:
1. You are correct - I'm doing an excellent job of hiding behind a bloody great camera. Trust me, I'm doing you a favor here. If there was a bigger flash available I could hide from view completly.
2. This is a very low quality photo. It started bad, but drastic adjustment to WB in that nice new RawShooter application totally finished it off. Those interested in the technical aspects of photography might notice (if looking very carefully) a slightly blown highlight here. I do feel really bad about this, and promise it will not happen again.
3. Noise? No way! That nice Mr. Nikon assured me that all his products produce 100% noise-free images even when one forgets the ISO is set at 6400. If you think you see noise here, I can only suggest you have a problem with your monitor.
4. This all started with my trying to find a way to stop my Lightsphere from falling off my flash. (This at least was successful. I discovered that if I stand perfectly still it does not fall off. This technique might not be foolproof outside because a breath of wind could easily remove it).
You know, David, there are folks who only recognize me when I have my camera up to my face, like it is a pair of eyeglasses or a funny hat that folks recognize. I bet you're in the same boat.

You just need to find someone with the same hobby as you

This is a self protrait taken in the Viscaya gardens in Miami. It's one of my personal favorites.
Here is one where you can actually see my mug. I was just messing around doing ch 34 not getting anywhere with the challenge, but I got this one.
