    Same issue here with Win7 x64. Perhaps it's FF3.5.5?

    Ff 3.6?
Silly me, I updated FF to 3.6, and of course lost my SmugBrowser. Is there anything I can do to get it back? If I must go back to a prior FF version, what would that be? Thanks.

--EDIT - Nevermind, I reverted to 3.5.7, and will await the precious moment when SmugBrowser is ready for 3.6!

Bulk Delete, Smugbrowser not working: Java error
Hi all, here is my problem, still.
Im running 3.5.7 FireFox on my iMac
just installed 0.5.9 Smugbrowser and I get this:
    Exception... "'[JavaScript Error: "syntax error" {file: "chrome://smugbrowser/content/js/common.js" line: 108 column: 2 source: "(())"}]' when calling method: [nsISmugmugAccount::login]" nsresult: "0x80570021 (NS_ERROR_XPC_JAVASCRIPT_ERROR_WITH_DETAILS)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://smugbrowser/content/xul/wizards/account.xul :: addAccount :: line 101" data: yes]

I see my galleries on the left and the thumbnails but only one will highlight and no actions will work upon it. ie, I can not delete anything. Is there anything new out there? I have 170 galleries the need to go and doing them one at is not what I call a fun project. Any suggestions from the Grinner Gods?

    :-)

I've made SmugBrowser and SmugManager compatible with Firefox 3.6 (at least, it will attempt to work. No guarantee/warranty is given that it will work well or correctly).

You can download BOTH plugins here: http://www.smugschool.com/SmugMug_FF36.zip

Unpack them, then just drag them into a firefox window and it'll install. Upgrade to 3.6, and notice that it works :)

    Hope this helps!

Can't say for sure about the locked galleries (SM is in R/O mode right now), but I did manage to fix/circumvent the saved login info problem.

It appears Smugbrowser (or more likely FF) "moved" the file that stores the login info (smugbrowser.xml) from "smugbrowser" in the root directory of your FF profile to a fairly deep sub-directory inside the extensions subdirectory (\extensions\{FBD8D33E-0FF7-4a71-BE2F-FD0B6F3C64A9}\chrome\content\accounts).

I almost have to wonder if the entire path is too long... Its over 160 characters, not including the actual file name.

Anyway, I opened the xml file in the "old" directory and copied the contents into the (empty) xml file in the "new" directory and the login info is there now when I launch Smugbrowser.

can you give the path for the "old" directory?

can you give the path for the "old" directory?
On my (WinXP) system the old path is/was:

    \Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\rndgibberish.default\smugbrowser\smugbrowser.xml

The two in bold will likely be different on your system.

And just for completeness, the entire new path is:

    \Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\rndgibberish.default\extensions\{FBD8D33E-0FF7-4a71-BE2F-FD0B6F3C64A9}\chrome\content\accounts\smugbrowser.xml

Its possible (don't know enough about FF extension) that the extension directory for Smugbrowser ({FBD8D33E-0FF7-4a71-BE2F-FD0B6F3C64A9}) could be different from system to system.

I followed the path... the new folder is not empty. I deleted the file and re-logged in and a new file was created... but the log in still is not saved and the error still occurs...ne_nau.gif

The new folder wasn't empty for me either, it contained a file "smugbrowser.xml" which was almost empty.

I think all it had was <smugbrowser> and <account> tags with nothing inside the account tags.

The smugbrowser.xml file in the old directory had all the account info properly stored (including the password as a hash instead of in plain text).

I manually moved the info from the old file into the new file to make it work.

OK, got that to work. Passworded galleries still don't show pics though... Hopefully the developer, or someone with more knowledge than I will fix this tool.

I just tried downloading this and it said it wasn't compatible with FF 3.6. Are there any plans to create a version that works in the most recent version of FF?

    Thanks!

It worked for me. When I double clicked on it in Windows, I got an error. When I right clicked on it and said Open With... Firefox, it installed and and I am connected.

    Thanks!

Save it to your computer first.
Then drag & drop it into a blank FF page.
The install windows should pop open.

just updated to FF 3.6, and used the link above to update the addon for smugbrowser. after a couple tries, I finally used ff to "open" it and it said it was unsigned, but it loaded and works like it always has.

    Thanks!!

Smugbrowser - remove all passwords in Cat?
Happy to report SmugBrowser 0.5.9b is working on my FF 3.6.8. My question is: I have a Category that has passwords on some of the galleries. Using SmugBrowser Category bulk update/security privacy tab, is there a way to globally remove any passwords that exist in Cat? The password and hint fields on that tab are blank and no option to remove PWs?

    It's an awesome program, thanks!

However, it freezes A LOT and crashes FF. I'm using 3.6.8 and whenever I open a gallery, if there are too many images, it freezes and shuts down FF.
