  • Photojournalistic style wedding photography
  • Attracting and booking the right clients and avoiding "bridezillas"
  • Lighting techniques, including off camera and available light
  • Shoot a ceremony in a real church with models or actors dressed in stunning bridal attire

  • Managing deliverables like books, images on disk, and video DVD slideshows
It's a learning experience that will keep your wedding photography business on track.

As a special "thank you" for attending the Boot Camp, Shay will be shooting portrait photos of each student, that they can use for their own promotional needs.

It's big and exciting and it's just what the doctor ordered :D

I am very excited to be presenting this boot camp. The chance to spend so much time with photographers and put words to action is really going to be mega-dose of vitamin Awesome! wings.gif

And the styling of the bride and groom that the photographers will be shooting is really going to make for some stunning portfolio material for photographers to walk away with. Jen will be describing that soon.

You probably have 4 close locations to cherrypick from: Chicago, D.C, Orlando, or Houston. :D

    sounds like an incredible opportunity!
Wish I had more equipment. I'd probably get laughed at shooting a wedding with just a Sony R1! I'd love to be a part of this, it sounds incredible.

I started shooting weddings with a Sony F717! It's not the equipment, it's what you do with it!

The SLR I use now just makes my job easier. And I used the earnings from my wedding work to pay for the equipment I now use. My old F717 bought my SLR mwink.gif

So don't let anyone make you feel bad for the equipment you use. You have a much larger impact on the outcome of the photo than the camera does!

    thanks,
When I bought my 828 I hung around stf and admired all the 717 photographers stuff. Once in awhile I lurk there and see that there are several who STILL use and love their 717. I sold my 828 to buy an R1. Though I like it, I miss the functionality my 828. I loved that camera. I couldn't justify having two $1,000 cams. Who knows maybe someday I'll be able to justify it if I decide to pursue photography more.

I might just have to look into the details of your boot camp...my husband has always wanted to go to NYC.

Wow - I hope there are repeats of this. I know I cannot manage any of the dates in the west - too close to the shootout for me to get away for more time.

    Next Year, Shay?

Do you plan to talk at all about releases and contracts for weddings shooters? Or at least, do you have any suggested resources for information?
