Yes, I know you are poking fun, and I was too! Seattle is also very appealing, I have family there too. I just cannot work out the time and money issue. So I am hoping for round 2!:D:D:D:D
Seriously, Ann, I hear you on time away from family. I have the same conflicts. I'm having fun, I hope you know, and no intention of making you feel badly.

Common Ann you know you wanna go. It will be so much fun. 4 days of nothing but learning about photography from shay stephens, the greateast wedding photographer alive. If I can go you can go. It's not an expense it's an investment in your future..... [/peer pressure]
I'm prolly gonna end up attending chicago anyways so wouldn't see you in seattle but still.......
I wish I had time to save the cash for the Chicago trip (only a three hour drive!)! But alas, San Fran is at the top of my must visit list....that would be so awesome can't wait......

(is there a dgrin scholarship fund Andy? )
Too bad, I think it would be well worth the time and investment, even going into debt that little bit.
I really like the way you think outside the box. That's just great.
So does the all inclusive part include an open bar at a mock reception ? How much of each day will be spent on the boot camp, especially the last day? I'm trying to figure out if I could possibly sneak this into my non-existant vacation time.

From what I understood once we got to the hotel the rest will be taken care of: rooms, food, transportation, models, etc. So it's essentially two days off one's day job and some $/time to get there and back (in my case it's mere 3-4 hours of driving, or even less).
Shay is screaming at me for not post-processing correctly....
Man so if I barely know how to post process I am in trouble.
I am so in this for Boston. This is exactly what I need (plus a photoshop class) Plus I know I learn better by doing (and the whole failing and succeeding) and with such a small group and the cost covers the whole thing!!! Really I dont think I will find a better opportunitity to get such a great ROI!!!
Man so if I barely...know how to post process I am in trouble.
Naw, not at all. Work flow is more than just post processing. And doing it efficiently means deemphasizing the amount of time and effort spent in post processing.
Look forward to seeing you in Boston!

From an email question
Got this question from an email today wondering if the Wedding Photographers Boot Camp was limited to Dgrin members only or could others attend.
The answer is, it is open to anyone interested in attending. You don't have to be a Dgrin member to attend, but you may want to be one after the Boot Camp is over
So if you know of any groups or individuals who might be interested, go ahead and invite them visit this thread. Even if you wind up not being able to attend, someone you know might be able to.
Another of the benefits of a program like this is the friendships and people you meet that you can help each other with for years to come. Meeting people face to face has a huge impact as anyone who has attended the other dgrin workshops can attest to.

No reception, sorry but the boot camp is a full 4 days. Generally from 9 to 5ish. You might be able to sneak out a little early on Tuesday if needed.

Sounds just like what I am interested in. I think we could move this up to Thousand Oaks...Nik, Me, David in TO. Or maybe we should hire a stretch limo to take us all down to San Diego! Or the Amtrak! It's actually as easy to take a flight up to SFO from Burbank...ummm.

Kathy,
Stretched limo to Amtrack, Amtrack to SD - this sounds like fun, we can start getting & right off the bat..
Registered!
Well, I am deposited..for San Diego
I am so excited. I am shooting my first wedding next Saturday so I will have some experience (ha ha) by then!
I was thinking something similiar... Either online or a DVD. Somthing to think about... There is obviously demand to learn from Shay...
Lee
I'm thinking that a DVD or on-line sessions would miss the major benefits of "in-residence" - the model shoot at the church and a local outdoor setting. In addition, you have all the face time with Shay for Q&A and to attempt to suck his brain dry of all available information. There are two session within reasonable distance from Toranto (Chicago and NYC). Something to think about!
For scheduling reasons, I can't attend the NYC session, but will be at the Boston one! So, I'm flying in rather than driving. Oh well, it's worth it!

When are you coming to Sydney, Australia to do this
Man, how I would love to do this, maybe on online version (somehow?)
Everyone would benefit from this.

We are talking to a man from Australia who is coming to NY to propose, so you never know...
As to the online version, I don't know how that could work with what I have planned. So for now I am going to say no to alternate versions.
