What is teh basic schedule and when is the hotel taken care of? I'm doing the Denver one and was wondering if the hotel on Friday was taken care of and also what time it started on Saturday.

Thanks so much! Really looking forward to it!!!
Unless things have changed, the Friday hotel is on the attendees. The fun starts with breakfast when we all get to meet each other (if that hasn't happened the night before) and the class starts at about 9:00 Sat morning.

    Regarding the Denver WPBC:
    [FONT=Arial, sans-serif]wave.gif
    [/FONT]
    Update:
Shay has just decided to include a complementary "Friday nights" stay, and we will take care of the reservation for you, so all you have to do is show up Friday afternoon/ evening. For any who have already made a “Friday night” reservation on their own, we are happy to reimburse you for it. In designing the class we anticipated more "local" attendees, but so many are flying in and it's so important to feel fresh and ready. mwink.gif

    The Class Schedule:
Sat, Sun, 8:30am to 5:00pm. Monday (the wedding day), we will meet in the lobby at 9:15 and return to the hotel about 5:00. Tuesday AM we will check out of our rooms, and the class will conclude about 4:00PM. (So, if you had a flight at 7:00pm you should be fine to get to the airport the recommended 2 hours early even with normal evening traffic.)

    Hotel to Airport:
There is a couple of shuttle company's that can take you “To and From” the airport, and we can have one/a couple scheduled to pick up after class at specific times.

    Airport to Hotel:

Outside baggage claim, walk over to the area titled "Airport Shuttles" and get on a "Super Shuttle" or "ABC Shuttle" ($18 to 19) each way. As you board, tell the driver you are going to "Embassy Suites Southeast, on East Hampden Ave" (There are several E.S. locations in Denver)

    Car Parking:
You won't need a car, but if you have one, free parking is provided at the hotel.

    Dress Code:

The dress code for the class is very casual and comfortable. The only exception being the wedding day. We recommend something along the line of semi-formal/business/jacket & tie optional, but still comfortable/workable clothing. (dark is good) More like a wedding guest, and less like a photographer.

    Meals and Fun Time:
This should be a very comfortable stay for everyone, this hotel has just completed a multi million dollar renovation. Also every room is a two room suite, and includes a private balcony with a view, a made to order breakfast "on your own schedule" each morning in the atrium, before class.

In addition to the normal break times, we have a refreshing "working lunch" scheduled in the class room, and a casual Dinner is scheduled for about 5:30-6:00pm each day.

After diner you are on your own, and because Shay is fundamentally apposed to "home work" you wont have any!!! clap.gif So you can hang out at the heated indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, sundeck or exercise facility. Or if you want to explore, Cheery Creek State Park it's 1 mile away, and the light rail can take you Downtown. :photo

    [FONT=Arial, sans-serif]See you in Denver!!! wings.gif[/FONT]

It is mainly meant for air travelers so they don't show up to the class frazzled. But If you are coming from LA, that would be similar enough of a frazzling trip, mwink.gif

Just let Jen know ahead of time.

    Yay!
Yep, I am not a 4:30 am chick and the 3 hour drive from Ventura County to San Diego would have put us there...I called the hotel yesterday and they wouldn't let me book the night before directly...

Is there a gallery being put together of the attendees' photos from each workshop? It would be pretty cool to see everyone's best five or so shots.

I second that idea! Could be a good marketing move for Shay as well for the next round of boot camps/seminars he decides to put on.

I'd love to see the result of extensive training from Shay :) And I just love wedding photography in general.

    That would be sweet :-)

I don't have any plans yet for next year. And I should have some photos by the end of the last show. Once it is over I will be able to start thinking about another go for 2008.

    Promised but not received it
Well, Nik, I've been promised a dress. Supposed to pick it up tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed. It will be too small (and maybe too big in some parts). We'll have to figure it out, and yes, it will be FUN. I am making a veil. Shall we cover your mustache with it or should it be short just covering your eyes and under the combat helmet? deal.gif (lol)

OMG - Are we going to have fun or what!!! If I bring my overalls, "wife-beater T-shirt", and my army boots, can I be the groom? I might even be able to scare up a beat up straw hat to top it off! Huh, Huh, can I? Please?

Or, if I paint a broom stick black, I can be the FOB at the shotgun wedding!

I was getting so excited about this whole thing, until you asked if I was going to SD.

I have only two brain cells and only one of them is working today. I'm going to Denver, not SD. Rats!

    Scott,

Nik and I will forgive you. Denver is a great spot - Washington Park is beautiful. Been there many times since my husband grew up there.

    Nik,

clap.gifclap.gifclap.gifclap.gifclap.gif - Dress is being shipped today. Not the same one I was getting free (I bought this one) complete with petticoat and veil.
If the freebie comes in, maybe we can get Shay to model that one.

Now that we've had a glimpse of what can come out of this bootcamp (thank you Urbanaries and Photogmomma!), is it possible to put together a dedicated gallery to show off this fine work?

Yeah, I second that. I'd love to see what the other attendees have come up with from the amazing talent of Shay. One day when I'm rich, I plan to attend boot camp...now about getting rich....
