Found dgrin/smugmug too late to participate in the '07 shootout, I've been checking every day this week figuring that with the '07 shootout being complete the '08 announcement would be coming soon. All the pictures I've been seeing from the '07 participants just made me more eager to attend. My deposit is in, and I'm looking forward to this even though it is a a year away. Talk about delayed gratification
The idea of a pre-shoot out get together is very appealing also, as there is so much to see and do in the Moab area that you could spend weeks there as still find new things to see and do.
If anyone else is considering a pre-shootout arrival, keep me and Nightingale in mind as well.
I am not sure about the climbing aspect, but I have generally never turned away from a good time yet:D

I'll be most likely in for a pre-shoot. Something similar to what we did last year - from Page to Moab.

Granted this trip is a long way off, but I might be willing to host a pre-shoot out. This is a part of the world I know pretty well.
Yeah, I was thinking along the same lines...
St.Mary's futons were prolly OK for the small kids, but they were just a little bit too short for the 6'2" 200lbs big ones
David, PM sent to confirm availabity, but Sharon and I both are psyched about doing it!
Jim/Nik/DaveV (and others) please keep us in mind too about a pre-shootout! We'll probably drive out toward Moab the Friday before and hit some spots along the way.

Kinda silly that I've been on dgrin, even as a mod, for years, and this will be my first shootout. And even sillier that I've decided to go when I'm actually not living in the US.

We've got a total of 51 interested people, including the pre-registrations.
We've got 30 who have paid their deposit.
We're getting a lot of requests for the King rooms, and I'm going to be giving priority to the couples for those, as one King bed for one person is not nearly as smart as 2 people for one bed. So, if you're married, but have had enough of each other, let me know!

Liz and I would be more than happy to bump up to a cabin. Or let me rephrase, Liz would be more than happy, given my propensity for snoring. The extra room would give me some place other than a couch to sleep on.

Maybe something starting in New Mexico around Taos (or possibly as far South as Santa Fe) where we visit some of Ansel Adams favorite subjects then on to Colorado for Mesa Verde National Park and Canyons of the Ancients National Monument then on up to Moab, UT.
Normally a 6 hour drive. But for a couple car fulls of dgrinners, more like 4 days.

Nick - two things:
1. I am sure plenty of others will be able to bug me!
2. Y'all better get your money in, cuz I don't want to miss out on your special kind of bugging!
