April I think your Sunrise at Chief is the only shot I've seen so far from that morning of the actual mountains. I distinctly remember a long row of photographers there. That's the morning I learned Andy's well guarded secret on why he only carried the tilt shift the whole trip. It's way easier for me to carry my bag full of lenses and him to borrow them then for him to carry them himself .

Here's one for you Nick (piccie), that I posted in another thread (linkie)
It's coming crunch time and I'm not any closer to choosing. I don't think you guys saw this shot....
Any good or is the background too bright and do the wings have too much motion blur?
I like it, except for there not being much background, and the lone tree feels a little out of place...
On second thought, maybe it's because of the lone tree that the background feels empty, it might help if you cropped the bottom as close to the bird as you can, to kind of hide the tree...

Or just clone it out. The background is enough of a constant color that this should be fairly easy to accomplish.
Hi Schmoo! Here is my bear shot - I think it should be among my top three, rather than just landscapes. If this is too late, that is okay, too. I'd choose this one over the St. Mary Lake shoreline shot.

Hi Ann, it's not a problem and it's certainly not too late. I can't grab the file off your site since it's protected, but if you want to PM me the L size I can add it to the Best Of gallery. Great shot!

Thanks, Stephanie - I pm'd something to you - let me know if it worked properly.
As I look through the galleries now (after a few months away) my favorites change, and probably will continue to do so. Anyway, I picked several panos as favorites - let me know if they are inappropriate sizes and I can pick others.
Where are you keeping these shots? Looked around your galleries and can't find anything related to glacier - I know that you have some great landscapes tucked away somewhere - I saw them as you chimped away day after day - c'mon, Christina, share a landscape or two!!!
Thanks, Ann! Most of the landscapes I really liked were from the preshootout. I had a couple from Glacier, but they're pretty much duplicates of some other shots here. Most I just plain haven't gone through yet. My boss is going to buy both the moonsetting at St. Mary's Lake and the sunrising behind St. Mary's Lake. But I already saw some gorgeous versions of the moon setting.
You know, it might be nice if in this book we had a section with a selection of the candid shots, to show the having fun and clowning around side of the shootout as well as the photo taking side...

These are great. Really like the second and third.
with the idea of a candid section. That would be cool.
OK, so if we do this, we've got an added layer of complexity here, and I think that we could use some help.
1) We need to have photos that we have the right to use.
2) We need to have permission to publish people's likenesses. No one should be surprised to see their picture in the book.
Schmoo is already taking on a huge job just getting the photos put together. I'm looking for someone to coordinate the photos and rights to the candid images.
But here's the catch: it needs to happen rather quickly, and I don't think we should be leaving anyone out that wants to be a part of it. Whoever gathers the candids and keeps track of the rights will work with Schmoo to get the images collected.

Who's up for it?
I have the time and willingness to manage the releases. Do we need actual signatures or can we get by with e-mail/PM?
FWIW - My image/likeness and my photos (the ones submitted) can be used in whatever resolution is required to get the job done.

Cool beans! Thanks for stepping up.
I think just a PM or email is fine. We don't need to get too legaleze about this. I just want to make sure that everyone is aware and OK with what we're doing. This book really belongs to all of the people at the shootout. And it doesn't need to be real formal or anything. I just don't want any surprises.
Thanks, Scott, for doing the work for this - I think a candid section is a great idea! For those on the trip, it was as much about the people as the photography (I think!).
And I give my permission for my mugly ug to be used.
These are my pics for the book. You have my permission to use pics of me (horrible as I may look!) I also include one of Jack, Sharon, Nick, Tony D, and Adam if they allow it.
