I get the following errors when trying to upload photos: Error writing request body to server.

What's the problem?

Same problem. I have been completely unable to upload photos since I started trying about an hour ago. Have tried multiple computers, multiple OS's, and multiple browsers on each. When I try to add photos to a gallery I get an error page instead of the uploader. It's not the same every time but all the errors have a common theme that suggest the server is overloaded or not responding.

The couple times I have been able to get as far as the uploader it crashes and burns once I press the upload button.

Haven't changed anything about my setup and all other sites work fine.

Yea, I'm having problems too. Trying to upload video and I keep getting errors. And the few I have uploaded don't play smoothly when I embed them to a forum. Frustrating.

Same for me. "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."

    Using the "old trusty" uploader.

    Morning Andy,
I tried a single upload from Lightroom using Friedl's plugin and it worked but when I tried to send up 30 images, I got the same timeout/'no response from Smugmug' message that I was getting last night. I thought it was a plugin error yesterday until I saw this thread on dgrin.

    Yeah - I see the issue :(

I've asked our engineers. In the meantime, you can try exporting to JPG and uploading with our Simple Uploader

    Can't upload pics
I am having trouble uploading new pics - both last night and this morning. I am getting communication errors using both the Lightroom plug-in and MacDaddy. Trying to upload 101 pics and only 28 or so got through before the problem started.

Last night from my home network - everything else was working fine - just couldn't upload to SmugMug - ftp worked fine to other sites.

This morning from a different network - but same communication errors in both programs.

Can you tell me what is causing the issue - very frustrating!????

    Thanks,

    Same problem here
I am having the same problem - last night and this morning - have tried Lightroom plugin as well as MacDaddy - both failing with communication issues. Emailed plugin developer and he was experiencing the same problems while trying to test. Andy's message says it is all clear but still a problem from here.

    Slow Slow Slow...
What is it with all the slowness recently? My galleries are taking half a minute to load. This has been happening off and on now for the past month. I've done plenty of tests and no non-SM sites show speed issues.

I've found I can upload successfully by updating MacDaddy to beta 3 (3.0.4). I found a link from Andy in a message thread here. So at least for me it is currently working successfully.

So I'm guessing it appears to be somehow related to Snow Leopard upgrade done last week - maybe the fact that Lightroom appears to be running in 64 bit now.

I'm finding the problem intermittent. Either galleries load instantly, or they don't load at all within 2-3 minutes. The split is about 30% load instantly, and 70% do not.

    It is frustrating

Yes, I'm having issues with slowness loading galleries and images, too. I'm afraid it's turning away customers who don't want to wait for the site to load. Please fix this!

    Thank you.
