I'm assuming Andy knows that PS may well run slower on his new box until there's a universal binary?
i ran PS through rosetta on my macbook pro this weekend for the first time...it was quite usable. RAW processing was noticably slower, but totally acceptable. Image creation was really barely slower and didnt interrupt my workflow at all.
Can someone explain to me why I can't use "diffuse glow" on my new Mac? That was the first thing I tried to run, because it takes SO LONG on my old PC. When I tried it, I got an error message that said "Not enough RAM", well I have 1GB in there, same as the PC. And here is a weird thing, when I went to Adobe this morning, under filter, the option DISTORT where diffuse glow is, is not even an on the menu anymore!
Granted this is a "tryout" version of CS2, I have to call adobe to see if they will grant me a new serial number for my MAC, or if I am going to have to shell out the cash all over again...:uhoh
I know 1GB RAM is not alot, but it should at least work right?
I don't do gaming, nor video on my Mac. So, is there going to be any benefit to me in upgrading? I've been happy with the vid card on my G5 thus far...

Dunno. What about a restart? Will the widget survive a restart? Or if you log out to another user and then back in?
It does. Crucial emailed me this morning about it, including an RMA# and a UPS return lable for the ram that's sitting at my studio now.
Not worth the potential trouble of 3rd party ram that isn't suited to the heat etc of the Mac Pro, so I'm getting the Ram direct from Apple. Called the Apple Store, and they hooked me up no worries
Eh, who knows, probably in a month or two Crucial et al will have suitable RAM that they can stand behind etc.. Kudos to Crucial, for being on top of the issue, and proactively sending out RMA# and UPS return label. A class outfit
...and are suprisingly "fair and balanced." they did a good job of not going off the deep end on either platform, pro or con. The numbers look pretty reasonably assigned and the closeness bears out what most "fair minded" folks say - that OS X is still slighly better but still needs continuous improvement to stay ahead, and in some ways Windows XP is on top (I'll take explorer over finder, and only having one corner to resize aggrivates me). There are a few mistakes (does Windows Movie Maker really ship with XP? I didn't think so, certainly not the most up-to-date version) but for the most part I'm impressed.

I thought so too. Movie Maker is right there on the program list for me. I

I thought backwards compatibility was pretty interesting. On one hand,
not having it allows you to focus on moving forward and in some cases,
not having to carry baggage from previous releases means you can do
bigger and better things. On the other hand, you alienate a whole bunch
of people if you can't run your 1999 applications on the 2005 version of
software. Oh well.

You can't buy a Mac without iMovie, so I don't quite understand the low rating there, or how they determine whether it's included in the system. And item by item the ratings seem pretty good. Problem is that all categories get the same weighting, so the totals are pretty much meaningless.

Well, you couldn't. But that doesn't mean that the final numbers have any more meaning. That's all's I'm saying, the numbers for each feature comparison have meaning, the totals don't really mean much. At least to me...

First get the dash clipping widget from here.
Then install said widget on your dashboard. It'll look like this:
Enter the URL that you want to watch and click next. This is what you'll get:
Adjust the position of the page in the widget and resize it to fit like so:
Click on Save position and size and then play the dashboard puzzle game to get something like this:

I don't know about you, but for me, as soon as I close the widget, it's gone, poof. I'd have to remake it again....am I missing something?

I know the heat sink was replaced and the top case (it had discoloration), not sure what else. Hopefully it will work well now.
