Well, thanks to this thread, I realized I hadn't changed the desktop for months.

I really like this shot. What's that big hole in the side of the rock there, a cave?

    Thanks Malte.
I guess it's a shallow cave, not going back very far, maybe just a couple of feet.

I've got my boy on there. I like this one because the black and white blends in well with my usual all black background and so the icons still show up well.

    Oceana Rose
A co-worker of mine had these beautiful oceana roses on her desk a couple of months ago...they were absolutely stunning - I told her that I had to get a shot of them...I had never seen roses open up so beautifully. Now it's on my desk-top.

I only have one or two I use all the time. This is one I shot of Gray Whale Cove off Highway One in California.

    Indeed!

Most of the PC users I know have these beautiful "slide show" desktop screen savers...

The Mac people usually search for desktops they like and randomize them. They are also known for "making their own" desktops out of their own photos, found photos on the web, art work, collages, etc. It's so easy to make your own desktop on the Mac side.

But... for the Mac screensavers, I use the ones that come with the system. On our other Mac we have Aquarium -- I just haven't loaded it on this cpu yet.

I also had some wild abstract screensavers (different from static desktops) and I need to find them again.

Beutiful, makes me want to go there. I about had a heart attack on the hotel rates until I saw they were in NZ$ (about 66%) of US$.

I, too, change my desktop based on my recent shots. My current one is this of the Honda Jet, in OOB framing.

Mine is b0ring :D I keep it neutral so that I'm not distracted when editing photos. This is a pair of 23" Apple Cinemas, on my Mac Pro. Mac on your left, Winders in your right. Now I *do* have a slideshow screensaver, rotating from all of my photos. I dig that.

I'm with Andy... I've noticed it makes a difference, I started out with 128 grey but I switched to 94 grey. And I only do serious color correction at night. Too much light polution otherwise!

I rotate mine as well but here is the current. I typically custom size so I have room on the left for several rows of icons.
