Re: On your Bike
Not as easy to ride, but boy, those things were fast in their day. Even now, as my friend Steve Stevens proved not too long ago. To tailor the high-wheeler to the rider, one chose a ft. wheel size for their leg length allowing a tad for knee bend. When safety bikes hit the market early in the 20th century (like those… -
Who still uses a "Darkroom" instead of Adobe Lightroom
I noticed some enlargers on e-bay, and wondered how many photographers *still* process thier own B&W film and print? I did some processing/printing while in the Army (1979-81) as part of the Morale Support Fund- which had a really nice Darkroom set up. About 5 years later I took a class in college, too. The retailers still… -
#81 Possibilities from CA Central Coast Wine Region
Been on a road trip up to Paso Robles for some wine tasting and relaxation. Here are four I'm considering for the challenge. As you can see, I've been post-processing with my new favorite iPad app., Snapseed. I'd love to know what you think.... 1. Wine Lines 2. Oak and Redwood Doce Robles, Seis Botellas (Twelve Oaks, Six… -
Re: My Flag... Let me show it to you.
Thanks for the great example. Well, part of the problem is that this is a $50 flag pole with a $15 3x4' flag that actually is leaning out beside my parents house. I wasn't quite pleased with the background either, but it was the best I could work out in fireworks (I don't have a copy of PS on my home machine), and I'm sure… -

DSS #81 - Mud boiling apart
Had staff function in Rotorua last night, and stayed over. Fine frosty day (yeah no rain!) so spent morning taking photos. At Waiotapu, was undone for sun by with being cold (5C) the steam rising from the Mud Pool was blocking the sun. Still managed to get some shots. #1. Boiling Apart (Mud Pool, Waiotapu) [IMG][/img] #2.… -
Re: Lamborghini anyone??
Sorry, I'm a car geek... I figured it out. Mirrors are too square, even the 1980-81 first generation had more rounded mirrors, and later generations almost all had color matched panels on them. Secondly, I was gonna let this one go, but there's no badges on the car - no bull on the front and no writing on the sides. No one… -
Re: photoshop filters equivalent
Those 81A filters existed long before anybody thought digital was possible. That must be an old book. You used to have to simulate them with Photoshop trix. Now you don't have to. In the latest Photoshop, you only have to: 1. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Photo Filter. Click past the first dialog box. 2. Hit the Filter… -
Re: So you guys just change things cause you get bored or what?
Daytrip.. Figure of speach. My fiance and I are always looking for an excuse to travel. Actually Davidson is not that far from here. Girls from the area occasionally make the trip down to the bridal shops near Lake Norman in a day. Granted, it is a leave real early and get back late trip. I was going by your earlier posts,…
