Fat Albert @ MCAS Miramar Airshow
“Fat Albert” is the nickname for the C-130 Hercules that accompanies the Blue Angels. It was one of the performers at this year’s Miramar Airshow. At take-off: Fly-by: For those who looked good, here is a 100% crop of “the man in the bubble” And of course the “JATO” (Jet Assisted Take-Off) during the twilight show. For the… -

Re: Pricing Fine Art Photography
Hi Vince, My suggestions would be to browse some local galleries & find the going rate in your area. I offer matted 8x10 prints (11x14 mat) in galleries for $40....framed for $65. I offer matted 11x14 prints (16x20 mat) in galleries for $80...framed for $130. That seems to be the average rate around here. -
Re: Poll: 1Ds Mark IV saga
Both the Nikon D3 and D3S are capable of 9fps to a depth of 130 images in FX - 12MP mode. They can do 11fps only in DX mode, 5.1MP. The Canon 1D MKIV can do 10fps to a depth of 121 images and is, of course, an in-between format of crop factor 1.3x. Make no mistake, all of these cameras are monsters in the field. thumb -
Re: How do you bulb?
Well, good luck! I wholeheartedly wish you a success. Just keep the time sheet. Once you spend more than 2 hours for labor alone (I'm not even counting the parts and skills), you'd know it will be cheaper for everybody else to simply buy that $130 device... Sorry. but this is how the market works...:cry -
Re: Where can I find a Safrotto CF700 camera bag in Canada?
Have you considered Crumpler bags? The "6 Million Dollar Home" looks about the same size as the Domke, is more stylsh and less conspicuous. It's C$130 at Vistek.ca, C$115 at Henrys.ca. Vistek is in Calgary and Henry's is in Toronto so you won't have to pay PST if ordering from BC. Link to Vistek Link to Henry's -
Re: Amazon Glacier
While this sounds cool, there are other really good options. I have about 3 terabytes on Backblaze across three computers for a whopping $130 a year. You can set up an individual account for as little as $50 per year. And it's unlimited and I can restore a file anytime from anywhere I have internet access. -
