Re: Time for the quarterly video thread??
I ended up getting a seperate webhost for my video. YES its THAT important to me! I paid $26 for my first year at Dreamhost, which allows me to host any type of file I want with 20GB of storage space (increases by 160MB each week) and 1TB of bandwith (increases by 8GB each week). Their speed is fast enough for me to host… -
Re: >>> DSS Challenge #5 (Primary or Pastel): Feedback Thread
On to the third page... 21 - cmorganphotography - No Going Back - As a photo this is very nice, it communicates an emotion quite well and technically is well executed. I tend to put a fair bit of weight into the stated theme and I can't really find the connection here short of the toning of the photo. Of course the contest… -
Re: Dance Studio pictures
I have just printed proof for 30 schools. No of pages ranges from 8 to 42. Very near 1000 pages. I estimate that used about $26 worth of ink. 3 prints @ $15 ea and I'm covered :D So Dump it and buy something like this: The Cis systems are not expensive either. I Haven't tested this one or know anything about it, I'm merely… -
Re: Connection Error message - CLIENT WORK HELP!
Scott, I have been getting various errors when trying to upload to SmugMug as well. Not sure what is different. Worked OK on 1/9, but then have had nothing but trouble between 1/26 and now. I have yet to upload a file without getting some error or another. One difference is that I am trying to upload video files, but the… -
Re: November Cruise to Bermuda
the Domino sign from the back, and the WBAL and the Channel 13 (WJZ) helicopters. I had trouble getting back over the threshold to get back into the ship - I could get out on deck OK, but the scooter hung up on the ramp going the other way. By now it was almost 5 and our dinner was at 5:30 so I went down to the room and… -
First experience: Canon 40D
I have purchased two brand new Canon 40D bodies Thursday Sep 20th 2007. Got them from Ritz Camera online at $1,299 apiece, no tax, overnight shipping for $26 only. Received early morning Friday Sep 21st. Played with them over the weekend trying to learn as much of the functionality as I can, and then used them extensively… -
The most fun wedding
It was the most fun, but it was also my most challenging. It was fun because the bride and groom and all the wedding party were just CHARACTERS to the extreme. In fact they all worked at the theatre, the one that the ceremony was at. None of them are actors, but they might as well be, since they are all so animated and… -
Mini Challenge #156 - Point Of View (pov) - RESULTS
First, I must say that it's been quite an experience to be on the "other side" of these challenges - both enlightening and great fun to host MC #156: Unique Point Of View. Very nicely done, all of you. Little did I dream when I initiated this little UPOV challenge, the bounty of eclectic images that you all would come up… -
Re: Question about workflow
I am currently reading The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Book: The Complete Guide for Photographers by Martin Evening which has some stuff that is out of date already, LR is 1.3.1 and it was written and released under 1.0 I think. However the concepts still apply. It will probably help answer a lot of these questions as well.…
