Re: Stonehenge in the USA
According to the stereotypical tourist shot of the plaque I shot (I'm allowed, aren't I? ) it was dedicated May 30, 1929. And I totally agree about the gorgeous scenery - my parents took a side trip through the general area on their way to Portland and wound up house shopping the whole time in the gorge. Go figure. Full… -

Re: Smugmug slow to load?
Very, very slow on the FIOS connection at my office. Dgrin, Google, my website, everything else is very speedy, SmugMug is very, very slow. Going photo to photo is pretty fast, but navigating galleries takes an eternity (12 seconds to load a gallery from the portrait section of my site). The problem seems to come up after… -
Re: Post Production Software Poll
Results of the Post Production Poll I would just like to say thank you to everyone who voted (84) in the poll and to those that had some time to enter a comment (13). The total number of people participating in the poll was 84 as of Sep. 1, 2008. Photoshop was the leader with 32.14% (27) using that software as their… -
Re: Publish your LAB curves in a snap (Windows)
Another approach Great work! The outcome looks good, very pro-like. May I still make a suggestion for yet another way of sharing Lab curves (or any kind of curves)? Why not simply describe your curves as a series of pairs of integer numbers? That's easy to do and wouldn't rely on a external site like Imageshack. The… -
Smugmug slow for anybody else?
For me, and several people at my son's new pre-school, SmugMug has been loading really slow for the past week. Firefox plugin "Load Time Analyzer" measured 60437ms to load less than 84 photos here in "all thumbs": http://gladlee.smugmug.com/gallery/1865178/1/93737739 I'm at work at Palm, Inc., where I believe our outbound… -
Class And Style As Exuded By Delahaye
Back in the early 50's, when American car manufacturers were turning out clunkers of monstrous proportions, this svelte beauty was introduced by that French maker of beautiful cars.....Delahaye. This example is a 1951 Delahaye Type 235 Roadster. This very car was the center piece of the 1951 Paris car show. Even… -
Congratulations Michael Atkins! DSS #9 (Dusk or Dawn) Winning Photo!
Oh my goodness! I cannot believe how many awesome shots there were in this round. So hard to choose just ten! I really thought I had you guys stumped and was looking at low entry numbers up until the last couple of days. But, you all just totally rocked! :clap Not surprisingly, PaulThomasMcKee and I agreed on just 3 of our… -
Re: 8x DVD burner
I love my Pioneer A107 8X DVD Burner. I paid $89 for it at Newegg. Now it's $84 :cry. I personally have full faith in DVD's. The data layer is sandwiched between 2 chunky plastic layers. CD's aren't built this way. The top side (where you write) is also the data layer and any damage at that level will result in…
