Re: Thoughts on Feisol 1471 monopod
I use it. It is my only monopod at the moment. My ideas: - very sturdy - light - good spike - rather large when carrying it during a photo shoot - carrying bag is included but is no more than a flimsy nylon bag I mounted a Manfrotto 234 swivel 2-way head for monopod, fitted with a quick release clamp specially designed by… -

Sorry for getting to this late. Thank you for the great entries! Here are my top 3! #3 kdotaylor - White Flower What I love most about this shot is the perfect exposure of an all white subject. Not an easy thing to do in a normal shot much less a close up. Bravo! #2 pegelli - Drops I am having a hard time pinning down… -
FS: Canon 70-300 f4-5.6 IS
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]For sale is a barely used, super sharp Canon EF 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS. I bought this new and only used it for a couple zoo trips before I caught the fever and moved up to L lenses. It comes with two extras: a Canon 58mm UV Haze filter (which has protected it since day one) and the ET65B lens hood.… -
Urban Cowgirl -- the rest
There were two shoots, one early in the back yard, and another toward dusk at a nearby park. Everything was done w/ two flashes using the E-TTL metering and ratio control and the IR triggering on a 5Dmk2 w/ 28-70 or 70-200 2.8L lenses. Flashes has 6x8 minimax softboxes, editing was done in LR/CS4 and using Portraiture… -
Re: RSS and Multiple Keywords
David, I see you made an update to the keyword function. However, I can not add multiple keywords in number format. For example 123, 124, 234, 432. I will only work if I use words. (example Holiday, turkey, fred). Also if I use a combination of words and numbers it will only take the first number I enter and the word. Or… -
Re: newbie's head is a spinnin'! What to buy
for the record I just bought an A1. I kept waivering on weather or not it will suit my needs but I won't know till I try it. The unit is referbished with a 6 mo warr, and the vendor guaranteed that it would be free from a manual focus issue that plagued about 40% of these camera's (data from a yahoo users group that I… -
Re: SOLD: Canon 20D
If the file numbering has been on continous and hasn't gone haywire from say, switching cards between cameras, you can tell the click count from the file name of the last shot and the folder it's in. Take a shot, go to review with all the info and look for a string of numbers like 234-3456. The first three digit group is… -
Re: Rusty Spigot (or Pump It Up!)
Thanks Jack. Yes, Manassas Battlefield Park is a nice place to have so close. I'm still finding new, to me, spots to shoot. My favorite is the equipment shed close to I-66. Coming from Gainsville you probably take Route 29 all the way to the Park, but if you come in by way of I-66 get off at Business 234 and turn right at… -
Re: Canon 7D Dedicated to: "All things 7D"
Giottos has several monopods that go up to or over 180cm (70.87 in.) in length. Once you add the tilt head, quick release plate, and account for the height between the base of the camera and the viewfinder, that should be more than enough to get to eye level, even for you. :D I'm 6'5" and I have the Giottos MM9780 (177cm)…
