Re: Sydney Opera House - passing the time
Thanks for these. I'm a Sydney native. In a comment I made to another poster about his photos of Darling Harbour, Sydney is a unique photographic subject. I did a test shot with my 24-70, flash, iso100, 24mm, f7.1 between 3-4 feet away. Did some sharpening, had to move the black point a lot and do some highlight recovery... ettl with no flash comp. was just too dark and I over compensated. I think this looks better than yours. It should be about 1:1 here but this is the… -

Results Thread - Mini Challenge #89 "Water"
I really made this hard for myself! There were so many interesting and wonderful images and such a variety of styles. I went back and forth several times, trying to end up with a reasonable list of finalists and not have 20 honorable mentions, which I easily could have done. In fact, I did make a separate honorable mention… -
Re: Interesting take on the future of photography
Interesting photos. Some better than others. Lots of online critics. Here is what they say about my work... "Sad" "I don't like color." "I don't like BW." "I don't like HDR." "I don't selective color." "I don't like diffusion." "I don't like Hyper-Real HDR, it is too cartoonish." "Your photos are too contrasty." "Your… -

I'm a native Californian and although I haven't lived there since 1977 I've visited many times and have family and friends scattered all over. My partner is German and had never visited the west…
