#69 - One Idea
I got this idea after a heavy snow in our area. Do you think it works for this challenge? I realize that it is a unique way of conveying an ordinary "feeling" or state of things, so not sure it really fits. I would welcome C & C as I am new to processing color photos as black and white. Thanks. Overburdened Other captions… -
Non-Smugmug Family and Friends?
I didn't see anything in the help about this, so I wanted to see if anyone has figured out a way to do this. You can grant friends and family permissions on a gallery to edit captions and keywords. But your friends or family have to also be SM users. Anyone figured out a way to expand this to outside of SM users? Even with… -
#69 Mutts
or, Are they too dark on your monitor? The lighting in the stairwell was tricky, tricky, tricky. And then there's the question of the banister. Keep it or not? I can't decide if it leads the eye upwards or distracts from the subject. And I think that ditching the doorknob is a good thing, too. I still have quite a bit to… -
Re: Historic car races at VIR sunday
These shots bring back a lot of memories. Back in 1967-69, a bunch of my sports car crazy high school buddies and I used to go up to VIR every spring and fall for the SCCA Regionals. We'd camp out in the infield over by the little pond and basically do what usually goes on in the infield of sports car races. That early… -
Re: Accessioning Software for Photographs
Peter Olwyler's photo archives Hi Peter Olwyler's son! I hope you still check this forum, as I'm interested in accessing your father's photos from San Miguel, ca 1967-69. Peter and I were friends, and I lived in the chapel on his property for some of that time frame. Sorry to hear that he's left us, but, I would be… -
BUG: http://upload.smugmug.com/ PHP response type returns formatted string
The PHP response type for http://upload.smugmug.com/ returns a 'formatted' string. It's formatted in as much as the string includes newline and space characters which prevent unserialize() from unserializing the entire string. The output returned is as follows (I've used addcslashes($string, " \n") to show where the extra… -

Re: Radio Poppers Jr. X
The PX transmitter ($249) can send a TTL signal to a PX receiver. This requires either the Nikon SU-200, SB-800, or SB-900 in the Hotshoe, or the Canon equivalent (sorry I don;t know Canon equipment). Then on your off camera speedlight, you need a PX receiver ($249). A JrX Transmitter $69 can send a simple trigger signal… -
Shutter count jumping around
I noticed something weird. According to Opanda, my shutter count is advancing faster than the file numbers of the photos, then slowing down. Beginning day one with each camera, I set the count to go in order. Worked perfectly up to a few weeks ago. Today one camera is off by 69 and the other 29. On some photos it can be… -
Re: photoshop elements or paint shop pro?
LAB in PSP No actual LAB in PSP. But try this: (note - I have not tried this, but this is some wisdom from the PSP Corel run forum - paraphrased) Duplicate the background layer. Set top layer to "color - legacy." Whatever they say to do to the LAB luminance layer, do to the bottom layer. Whatever the PS LAB tutorial says…
