Re: DOF for Dummies
DOF gets confusing because focal length does not affect DOF in the same format size, IF ( and its a big if ) the subject size is held constant on the film plane. If you shoot a portrait with a 24mm lens or a 300mm lens, and the portrait is the same exact size on the film plane, then the DOF of both lenses is the same - not… -
Re: why you should buy from a retailer and why you should buy the extended warranty
so I figured, lets go to Best Buy (not the one I bought it at) and see what the deal is. I go in there, no receipt, no original box, etc etc, just the camera. explain the situation. "can you guys fix it here, just pull that lens oof and clean it" "nope, its gotta be sent out, take about 2 weeks" "darn I can't live without… -
Re: dance school packages
This topic interests me as I've taken the photos at my daughters dance studio. I don't really consider myself a professional photographer mostly because I don't shoot for a living....more a full time artist. Having gotten that out of the way, before I did my first shoot 2 or 3 years ago, I searched and searched to find… -
Re: DIY Strip boxes.
They're very easy to make - cutting the gutter plastic was kind of a pain, but it's really no big deal. Took me maybe 30-45 minutes to make. Made the second one yesterday - it came out a bit better than the first since the "design" was already worked out; I also found the black duck tape to clean up the outsides a bit… -

THis so true!!! LOL!!! :rofl :rofl TOOLS DRILL PRESS: A tall upright machine useful for suddenly snatching flat metal bar stock out of your hands so that it smacks you in the chest and flings your beer across the room, splattering it against that freshly-stained heirloom piece you were drying. Trouble hiding images in 1.2.0
Hello, I'm working on an app using the SmugMug API v1.2.0, via JSON, from Java. I have code that's working for nearly every operation I need to make, except hiding an image. I'm fairly sure my code is correct, as this call is structured the same way as all the rest of my code, but whenever I call the API, I get either a… -
Headshot Marathon, Day 1 for C&C
ETA: Some taken wit the 50 1.4, some with the 85 1.8. So. I again agreed to shoot headshots for a colleague's acting class at the college. Re: Another Beach Shoot
Wassup David.... I got your PM, amd remembered that I had forgotten to comment on these when I first saw them. First off....I have very little experience with beach shoots....as I have only done a beach wedding once.....so...take that for what it is.
