Re: question by private message
Graphy - please, pretty please, read my post again. NOW WHERE did I say anything about a lens being cheap. I talked about optical compromises neccessitated by 10-1 zoom ratio. The following shot of Haystack Rock on Canon Beach was taken in a series with the intent to use CS2's HDR conversion to display its large dynamic range, principally to bring out the details in the rock. Unfortunately, I blew the composition, but I still thought it was a good image to play with in Photoshop. Well, for… -

new guy thinks he should get a t1i, should I go w/ costco?
I'm another transplant from Advrider. AAAARRGGGHHH!!!! I need to take a lot of billiards shots, w/o flash. I run a pool league. All the shots are no flash indoor applications w/ decent distance, can't disturb the game. I somehow did research and found that a canon rebel t1i is a good fit. Have done some dark room stuff,… -
What Would You Do?
Okay. So here's my situation:: I've just sold all my former camera gear. (Nikon D40:: 18-55 kit, 55-200 VR zoom, and a 35mm f1.8 prime.) I did this because I found the camera's 6mp sensor meager for cropping, which I happen to do a lot of as a beginner. (Plus, 6mp gets pretty shady for 13 x 19 prints, especially…
