Re: 2013 Year-End DIscussion: Where Is The Wedding Photo Industry Headed?
While I have read every post in this thread. I realize we all live in different areas and economies. I live in an area dominated by the steel industry, specifically iron ore mining. The economic trend is "protect and save" and leads people to skimp on everything. There is a good number of Studios in a 150 mile radius of my… -
Re: D700 or New Lense?
It really, really depends on what you shoot and under what conditions. * Shooting nature and landscapes and casual stuff, a 24-70 couldn't be further from the right choice... I'd rather have a 16-85 DX, a Tokina 11-16 2.8, and a Sigma 50-150 2.8. * Even if I wanted to kick it up a notch with nature and landscapes etc, I'd… -
Re: Questions of what to get
As Ziggy said...Your a200 has a hotshoe..it is just a proprietary one..meaning that it is special and a lot of off brand flashes need an adapter, can be purchased off ebay for very little...but better than that look into the Sigma line of flashes for Sony then you have direct connectivity and all functions should… -
Re: macbook vs mb pro vs pc?
Photoshop CS4 uses the video chip for functions that speed things up, which would be a + for the MBP. IIRC it also uses faster hard disks, but I could be wrong. CPU wise, it's obviously faster... but PS is fast enough for most anything on any modern hardware. The software? It works the same on either OS. My experience with… -

Lots of stuff: what to carry on day hikes
Please excuse the length of this post. I am trying to decide what gear to take for vacations that include day hikes—some level and some with elevation gains. Hikes can range from a couple of hours to maybe 8 hours. Yosemite, Rocky Mountain NP, Smoky Mountains, and Sedona are all on my list for the next couple of years. I… -
Panasonic DMC-GX7 vs. Nikon D3300
Hello everyone, I am new here and during my rather extensive search for information I luckily stumbled over dgrin! After reading through a couple of threads that seem to be related I could not find the sort of advice I was looking for yet. I basically could use some experienced opinions on a new camera purchase I would… -
AC5 for PW TT5 units
I FINALLY received my AC5 RF "socks" from PW. The package comes with a RF reducing shield/sock that has a string pull at the bottom, and Velcro at the top. Re: A Day in the Life of Dgrin! - THE BIG REVEAL!...

They are devoted to helping the homeless progress so they can stand on thier own two feet. The event was a volunteer appreciation luncheon held…
