A few from the Dallas zoo...
I'm not sure I'm, er, ready for posting photos here... but everyone seems to be so kind, and I guess I'll have to get over my fear eventually. I've had my DSLR for a couple of months now and am still way green, but- less a three week period Ilene spent vacationing in her bag while I was sick- have really been enjoying… -

Re: sharp eyes, help
Set it as low as you can while still getting a fast enough shutter speed that camera shake will not be a problem. You really ought to use a monopod with a 70-200 for portrait work. Even with IS It is a vignette applied in Lightroom, but I also do my own in photoshop. Fill flash? Quick?....short answer no... There is much… -
I was about to toss this when...
[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]I don't do a lot of landscape, mostly wildlife. I climbed MT Ellinor in Washington state the other day. I stopped at an observation point to shoot a series of shots. It was early morning and the sun was coming up and the view was spectacular. It was an exceptionally clear morning and the… -

Re: Rockabilly Car Show Top Ten
Thanks Bill- Yes there are issues but some were done to fix bigger ones. I didn't have any say in the location- it was a car show- that happened to have some girls dressed up to fit the part and willing to do some pictures. The 1st shot was cropped because just to the left of that spot is a giant cell tower- and then a… -

Re: Xena Goes All Bond on Us
If you are going for a capable agent on par with Bond, it would be more sexy dress, but then reaching for her gun that has the holster on her leg. Angelina Jolie type stuff on Mr and Mrs Smith. It's just more subtle. For a Bond girl, its the glamour with dramatic lighting with a hint of danger. And this is Black Widow in… -
Re: Catalog and Edit
Correct. With tape based video acquisition, "auto-logging" software works pretty well when you have either a camera start-stop signal or time code interruption. Scene based auto-detect, auto-logging software largely does not work. By the time you set sensitivity high enough to detect actual scene changes, any camera… -
I know how much you love ?'s
Okay.... I am going to try shooting some shots in RAW, just so I understand was this means for me, this is the jist: 1. RAW image is not a jpeg... right? 2. I still set custom settings on my camera...... right? 3. A RAW image gives me more chances to fix a "somewhat messed up shot" 4. I edit the RAW image and then save it…
