Re: Why is smugmug so slow tonight???
I was able to browse the gallery once - after we had been out for several hours earlier today. Most of my other galleries are fine - just a couple in the Family category it seems at the moment are the trouble makers. My motorsports site seems ok, too. Tracert as follows: Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] (C)… -
Re: Looking to avoid cliche Fall photos in Vt
I think that will be excellent timing. I believe things are changing a bit faster this year due to the cooler and wetter summer (i think we had one). Unfortunately, I can't really recommend any particular locations for shooting, but I was in the Killington area about 2 months ago camping and hiking with friends and I… -
Re: Damn, this is the best forum out there
Glad your camera is back When my camera had to go in for repair, I had to take back the one I handed down to my daughter. Just couldn't be without my camera. She doesn't take photos the way I do. I was at the beach and some idiot decided to dump a bunch of household wood, probably from a construction job. He and his buddy… -
Re: Unofficial LPS 15 Feedback Thread
My top ten Haven't really felt like shooting much lately, and looking at the stunning entries, I was more than a little intimidated to even try and enter this round...silly, I know. That said, great job everyone! clap The level of photography is improving by leaps and bounds! Here is my list: #3 - Greensquared - Autumnal… -
beach candids
We are melting up here in the Pacific Northwest! Yesterday the temps soared well above 100 (something around 107, which is WAY out of the ordinary), so my son and I escaped to the coast with a friend and her kids. When we arrived, we found perfect temps and a very foggy beach. It was so strange to look east and see blue… -
Izabelle [Reflector tryout] *Heavy Post*
Howdy friends! Bought myself a Interfit 5 in 1 reflector kit, transparent, white, silver, gold and black, 107 cm a few days ago. Took it out for a little casual tryout yesterday snapping a few pictures of Izabelle. Although not working with it very much yet, I know this was one of the better photo gear purchase I've done… -

Re: Officer asked me "What are you photographing?"
Here is a tip from a guy who has been questioned quite a few times. When you are standing in or near the street doing this type of photography wear an ANSI 107-2004 class II safety vest or jacket. It might save your life. If you get a really nice reversible one it becomes a visual clue to the police. They have something… -
Photo calendar - using uw pics for good cause
I'm fairly new to Smugmug, and as a non-professional photographer, I decided I'd like to do something useful with my photos and website. Using downloadable software from www.digi-labs.net, I've created a 2007 calendar of some of my underwater photos (see nav bar on my website: www.UnderwaterReflections.com) to raise money… -
Re: Shooting houses
You want an ultrawide lens to shoot interiors, I use a Canon 10-22. The field of view of a wide angle lens will give you more of the room. The 10-22 has a 107° view angle at 10 mm, this will let you set up in a doorway and still capture most of a room. The kit 18-55 lens has a field of view of only 74° at 18 mm, a…
