Re: More from Bents
Thank you, Randy :) Thanks, Mary, for the kind words! There's still quite a few grain elevators made of wood around here. I'd say more in Saskatchewan than in Manitoba, but plenty in both provinces, although somewhat scattered. I've seen the word "pool" in many elevators; I don't know what it refers to, but you might be… -

Re: Publish to Facebook - Beta 2. Now with Pages!
Any love for this thread? I'd still like to know an answer to my question in post #80: "Does this work with Smart Galleries and with Collected photos in a regular gallery? Sorry if this topic has already been covered..." and Lighthawk (Andy) in the most recent post (#81) has good questions too. I don't want to bother… -

Re: Smugmug card design utility
One fold, along the midline horizontally. Check this post - he provides links for templates that are very useful. Basically, on the portrait card, think of one half of it being 'front/back' (in my example, the jay and the logo) and the other as the two inside surfaces (the message and the blank page). I actually found it… -
Re: DSS #24 - Am I close
Isn't his stuff awesome? It will be a challenge but I think I will go for it. I will either do a self portrait on this one or use my father. My father is 81 so he is a bit on the wrinkled and worn side, which I think will fit his Dragan's work better. I just have to see how cooperative he will be. He's a no nonsense kind… -
Re: Curious
That round also included effects in post processing, and there wasn't much against photographing a filtering effect occurring naturally, I think. And besides, you can easily reproduce the effect of some filters right in the camera. Fiddling with the white balance for example would give you the equivalents of several series… -
Re: Cropping
Chris, Nice shot. It lacks pop, which is easily fixed in post. I opened it and avoided doing everything in LAB, but just stuck to basic RGB changes. Here's what I got: And here's what I did. First I adjusted the curves so they looked like this: I then boosted saturation and applied photo filter 81 at around 25% opacity…
