Re: Nesting Galleries ?
Explorer View Actually, it exists, even in (at least) two variations. First is recently introduced SmugDAV (Mac OS X and Windows XP) Second is a almost two month old smugmug explorer - Windows client side application, tuned for XP (and higher). Thus far should work for 2000/Me/98 too, not sure for how long, though - I have… -
Re: For the Linux users - Wine and photoshop
Well I reinstalled windows, got photoshop, dpp and a few other of the more useful programs installed, now im doing windows update, 98 things. :) I tried to get linux online with my att wireless card but it needs drivers or something, so im hoping the wifi was fixed with the fresh install so I can get wine when I go to the… -
Re: Color Temperature of lights in workspace?
Soraa has a very good reputation. I chose to use Phillips florescent F32T8/950 bulbs. Color temp 5000K and a CRI of 98 for my small (17' X 14')studio work area. I have 7 dual 48" light fixtures to light the work space and the room is almost shadow free. Most icc profiles are designed at 5000K. They be my thoughts. Sam -
Today's birthday
Today was the celebration of the seventh birthday of expo 98' here in Lisbon. I went looking for some decent pictures, the parade was really weak, but I managed to find interest in the crowd... ( by the way, thanks to mickle for his framing script, now I have patience to frame my shots for online posting :thumb ) this is… -
Special Olympics
My first post out here. I had the privilege of shooting the Special Olympics Tennis Tourney this last weekend here in Memphis. These special athletes tried and played SO hard it was enough to touch your heart. All of this in the 98 deg, Memphis heat. You never realize just how much you have been blessed in this world until… -
Re: Site Down
I decided to see how bad it is. I just looked at the downtimes (offline or read only mode) listed in the blog for the month of march (until the blog says the site came back up today). I totalled the downtime and divided by the number of hours so far in the month and came up with an availability rate of around 98%. When the… -
Re: Serious over-exposure
I was shooting in shutter-priority, with absolutely no exposure compensation (I checked that to be certain). EXIF for the second shot - by far the worst: Exposure: 1/1000 sec at f/5.6 Focal Length: 98 mm Focal Length 35mm: 147 mm Exposure Bias: 0 EV ISO Speed Rating: ISO 320 Flash: Did not fire Exposure Program: Shutter… -
Re: Batteries on Pro dSLRs
And that was with 2 microdrives inserted. There are so many features that Kodak got right way back in '98 when they designed this camera. The dual PCMCIA slots that could take 2 microdrives or a microdrive and a GPS card, the firewire tethering, the batteries, the white balancing. So much of the technology in this camera… -
Re: Lens advice (20D)
you could always buy yourself a 1.4x converter. those are quite effective and have a lower F-stop then the 2x converters. it would turn your 70-200 to a 98-280. Or... you could go for the Canon EF 75-300 III USM *can't remember F-stop off the top of my head* but it has quite a nice reach. and for an affordable price for… -
Re: Need help in choosing editing software
I cannot say enough good things about Lightroom. The software, combined with two books (Evening's Lightroom book and The DAM Book), is in the process of revolutionizing my workflow for the better. To respond to someone that said that LR is just a raw converter, not an editor, well, I respectfully disagree. I can do 98% of…
