Re: Todays Work: Mt. Goat - Full Bodied.
OK, I re-calibrated my monitor :D What I'm seeing here is a dern near fantastic image (in my eyes). My only nit now is the bg camera right/top is too bright. It forces my eye to go there instead of the animal. The bg on the left/rear of the animal averages about 217, and on the right about 247. I messed with a copy in PS… -
Re: Use my old Canon 350D for Time Lapse?
Did a test run today and found something weird. Mounted the 350D on my tripod and used the intervalometer. Settings: f/3.5 (to remove aperture flicker), Av mode, ISO 200, manual focus Interval 30 sec Shot for 2 hours in the backyard The finished movie has what look like artifacts/blockiness (not sure of the correct term)… -
Batch Uploading?
Over the years I have stored my photos on my hard drive in folders organized first by year, and then subfolders within the years named with the actual date and a brief description. For example... 2008 2008-12-25 Christmas 2008-11-220 Zachs Brithday 2007 2007-07-04 Independence Day 2007-02-14 Valentines Day This has grown… -
FS: Canon 55-250MM IS
I'd like to purchase one of Canon's longer high-end telephoto lenses (aka the kind that makes your wallet say "ouch")... since I'm not a pro and am on a limited budget, I'll need to sell a couple of the consumer lenses I have to "finance" this. This lens was purchased at the end of June '08 (so it's still under warranty)… -
Canon EF-S 15-85 plus filters and hood
NOT AVAILABLE: SALE PENDING. Sorry, I don't know how to delete this message. I switched to FF, so I am selling my EF-S lenses. This lens is in like-new condition. Because it was my outdoor walk-around, I have some filters for it that I would like to sell with it, as I have no use now for that size (72mm). These are a Hoya… -

Re: Two more accessory suggestions needed.
OPTECH Dual Harness I use an OPTECH Dual harness with a pair of cameras and it works great. The rig places the weight of the cameras/lenses across my shoulders rather than around my neck. It also doesn't cost a king's ransom. http://optechusa.com/dual-harness.html However, I add a cheap, lightweight carabiner clip to the… -
Re: Liability Insurance question
I talked to an All State insurance agent today, mostly about my truck. Their price is about $220 cheaper every 6months that I currently have from State Farm with no accidents or tickets in the 9 years I've been driving. ANYWAY, that's not the point. So, while I was talking to her I asked about insuring my camera, laptop… -
Re: white balance/grey card question
I'm not advanced as Jim (and I'm cheap, too:-), so I'm using a very simple black-gray-white card which I got as a freebee when I signed up for NAPP, I think. I'm trying to take a shot like this before each look and at least once after any major lighting setup change. Then in ACR I select the part of white portion which… -
iMac from B&H
surely this is legit: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=cart_accessories&A=details&Q=&sku=458995&is=REG but if so, why is the price SO much less expensive than APPLE? WITH the student discount? I was hopeing I could order from BH because they don't charge as much for taxes in my area, or so it seems, thatn…
