Sorry, I was just feeling snarky, given how, shall we say, overexposed a certain photographer's portraiture techniques have become. I'll shut up now. :D

*snickers* Though, I'm really curious where and who the influence of Sherstone lies. Maybe I should emulate him? I really do admire all the work and ps mastery that comes form his images.

It's not a question of where he grips it! It's a simple question of weight ratios! A five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut.

Will this go on until the end of the skit? ne_nau.gif

How very flattering of you to say, thank you!
I actually thought about that very question as soon as this challenge was posted.
It certainly is not any one specific photographer where I draw my influence from but several.
I will admit that I do not watch a well filmed movie without disecting each and every scene for how it might be lit.

I have two photographers picked out that have influenced my work and will be emulating for this challenge, both are Canadian,
It will all depend on model availability and timing as to which one I end up submitting.

I do the same thing. I sit there and go "Oh, wonderful light! I wonder how they did it." More than once I've paused a movie and sat there and looked for light sources, shop work, filters, and any other photographic design tools to steal or use. Memoirs of A Geisha is one that I am currently obsessing with because they shot the entire thing through fabric, glass, or some obstruction. I don't know if I will emulate the director of that film or a portrait photographer who is indeed a high influence on my photography, and a helluva nice guy. Depends how the sp goes tonight.

Emulating you is just too much ps work and know how for my patience!! I'd spend a week on tuts for sure!rolleyes1.gif

Try doing a search for street photographers. It gave me some interesting results and maybe some inspiration... if I can find any free time.
I'm off to lead a photo safari group at our local wildlife refuge now... (oh boy)
It is too early for this!

Thanks! I googled immediately after posting and came up with the requisite wikipedia stuff which had a couple of ideas. Now it's a matter of getting a sense of the style and technique of someone that strikes me over the next 5-6 days and then to the streets for two and one day PP. Thank goodness for May Day.

Btw, how'd you do that Google screencam thingy? No wait, I'll figure it out on my own ;)

Oh, and what if two swallow's held the coconut between them on a string?

Oh, and to be honest, not only does he resemble Benny Hill, he also looks a bit like my Grandad during a day at the seaside.

Hi there, I've just posted my entry into the challenge gallery and just wanted to check out if I've entered it correctly.

This is the 1st time I've entered a composite image, it's actually a 13 image Focus-stack, and I've put a link in to a gallery that holds the 13 individual images. Did I put the link in the right place? Is it ok?

    Thanks

    Tim

Oh sorry Aaron, but that's not really possible without offering an AVATAR. And all of your galleries are locked. What's up with that??? Okay, so that leaves us with illusive personality, which for now I'll have to go with Walter Pater. Either that or Hannah Montana. lol3.gif
