Delaware Canal, Uhlerstown PA
This is the covered bridge over the Delaware Canal and towpath in Uhlerstown PA. My parents live nearby and I've walked here coultless times in the last 40 years. This spring, it is particularly lush with all the rain we've been having.
When can I vote for Dustbin Day??? Good one Gubbs...
Thanks Damon, Still no people though! Although I think it's going to tough, I'm looking forward to next weeks assignment (assuming "people in your neighbourhood" stays in front)
i liked this one best of your entries dugmar. it does need a bit of straightening in ps imo. a fine shot, just a bit more "in-post" and you've got a winner.
I'm still firmly in the learning stage with the new camera, only taking snapshots at this point. Lots of room for growth though, which is one of the reasons I bought it.
Dog walk
i like the compo, the people either need to be more or less clear/sharp.
hey ian, i think this shot has potential. it could use a bit more punch in ps though imo .. beef up the colors, maybe some curves adjustmetn to make it "pop."
Well, I went hiking with my daughter this weekend, but didn't have as much luck as I was hoping. This was my best capture for the assignment.
Chumash Pathway
And
This Old House
first one is quite lovely. a person / subject in the shot would make it a winner. the second is very nicely done, though more of a stairway than a path. it got edged out by the finalists.

Andy, thanks for taking the time to comment on all of these. Funny thing is with the first, I had several shots of that scene with my daughter in it, but somehow none of them worked like I had hoped, so I was left with an empty path...

hi altrpro,
i liked both of these, and they get honorable mentions from me.

i dunno. ... it's a lineup of bullets... perhaps if you put them at an angle to the viewer i would have been more engaged.

i like it very much. but it just didn't make the cut vs. the other finalists. it's quite nice, love the framing and colors.

it's more of a lake or riverscape to me than a pathway, probably due to the hanging branches. i like the shot but it got edged out by the finalists.

i like the sillhouetty look - but it didn't say "path" to me.

nice shot - on theme - could use some punch (levels? curves?) "in-post"
edged out by your other entry..

nice shot- edged by your other entry. i like 'grass path' very much, too.

more of a duck crossing, and they have less impact when viewed from the rear

i like this image a lot - it has some potential, needs a bit of levels adj "in-post" i think to brighten it a tad. nice job momma!

it didn't grab me. technically well done but artistically i wasn't engaged.
