I'm traveling and on every single public computer I've tried, I get a "connection refused" or something similar when not using the www. I type in the www and it works. Any ideas?

    thanks.

    Erick,

Your @ A record is pointed at our old address that changed 2 years ago. We had to turn that off a couple weeks ago. Edit your DNS for the domain and look for borealphoto.com. 3498 IN A 63.81.134.23
Edit the IP and change it to 208.79.45.23 That should fix it up.

1- How come we don't have this in the pop-up news on our homepage?
2- The first CNAME was supposed to be a forever thing. It's the second time I have to change it.
    3- What is this: 3498 IN A 63.81.134.23

    1. This was announced several times over the last 2 years here on Dgrin, and via email. The popup news was released last night.
    2. The IP address change was mentioned in the dgrin posts and emails at the same time as the CNAME change.
    3. The 63.81.134.23 is our old IP address. It is in your @ A record and needs to be changed to 208.79.45.23

I did changes from CNAME to A Record about two years ago. If other changes took place, I wasn't aware of it. Dgrin is the worst place to make announcements. Pop-up news existed before yesterday. It just looked different. Why not use that?

    Now I can't upload photos. ne_nau.gif

Erick: we didn't change anything last night with domains. We did make announcements and emailed you at your address on file a few times over a year ago about our domain changes. This was all done to serve you and your visitors faster photos on your custom domain. We did everything short of showing up at your door step :) If you have problems with your domain, no worries, we can assist in a heartbeat - just write our Support Heroes with details and we'll get on it right away. Thanks Erick.

Is the set up on page one still correct to add a custom domain to a new account?

Before I waste your time and mine, the instruction refers to professional SmugMug accounts. The pricing info says that the Power account can have a custom domain. Can I set the Power Account up with the custom domain?

Andy, I saw this thread before. It says "is your domain busted?" No, it wasn't. With Smugmug, I never know if it's a major change or just a minor annoucement. For exemple, when I received my first email for a sale, I thought it was an ad for porn and it nearly went in the spam folder.

Hi Erick, I have no idea what this means :D Our sale emails have no porn references.

We emailed all custom domain users over a year ago, at least twice. And we posted on homepage news box and here on Dgrin. We're catching the remaining few stragglers now, after all this time.

We made the domain change to make your custom domain be as fast as possible on SmugMug thumb.gif

Erick, you know by now we're not some buttoned-up stodgy company. I'm sorry that "Who loves ya baby" made you think of porn :(

The last thing "who loves ya baby?" brings to mind is porn....not when it conjors up images of Telly Savalas with a lollypop...and somehow Savalas is not anyone I link to nekkid stuff....shudddder!!!

Hi Andy, I have not been on Dgrin for a long time. My husband was sick for two years and passed away in December 2009. I have gone to my site at www.susanappelphotography.com and it has been working. Now, I am away from home and working on a laptop. I want to show some photos to my family and my webpage does not work. I think something may have changed, but I don't know what. Can you help?

In addition to working well...that's one of the nicest home pages I've seen on a SM site...very nicely done! Simple, clean and fast...assuming we are finally done with the SM necrotizing slowness disease.

I've set everything up for www.cradphotos.com and it doesn't work. Can someone please let me know what I've done wrong, so I can work on my site? I've contacted the help desk and had no response yet.

By working perfectly, I assume the site came up like it's supposed to for you? It hasn't and never has come up for me yet...any reason this would be the case?
