How about some hybrid feature that is as close to one-click functionality as possible, gets it's own visible icon like the Like button does (but a different icon to avoid confusion) and puts a real post with thumb on the user's wall?

i'm fairly sure that i've mentioned that before, John.. But I <3 you!<img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/6029383/emoji/thumb.gif" border="0" alt="" >

I believe this is easily achieved as it the method used by many other sites.

Also, as you can see it works exactly as you described if you click on the little Facebook icon at the bottom of this thread. :D

I think something like this may be coming soon.

nod.gif but we can't make a thumb appear on the likes, that's up to FB :)
Thats why you build a "Share" button instead of generic "Likes". "Likes" arent taken serious on FB when it comes to this kind of content. People "Like" movies, bands, celebrities, etc. Not individual photos & galleries. Its not a good way of sharing your content.

Plus, they get overlooked & buried in the mound of other, more richer content people are sharing. C mon guys, this isnt that hard to figure out.

You can add the insights code to your head tag in your advanced customizing if you are a power or pro customer. Then the insights page will give you some more data.

Possible to do Twitter but not Facebook?
I went through and reread the thread and still am confused. Yes, I am being an edge case. I want to be able to allow people to easily Tweet my images but not to like them on Facebook. (While I have a Pro account, I am not a pro.) So from reading post #67 it appears that one should be able to remove just the Facebook like button. From reading the release notes it appears that there is only one setting. From my testing it impacts both the Twitter and the Facebook button.

Is there a step I missed in there or is it an all or nothing? Having Facebook under the Share > Be Social is enough for my coworker's use.

You can hide just the Facebook button with this CSS:

#quickShare .qsFacebookButton {display: none;}
--John
HomepagePopular

Add this to your CSS in advanced site wide customizing

.qsFacebookButton {display: none;}
